All About Dogs

Photobucket

This is my second attempt at posting this.  The first one went terribly wrong, the poll came out in code and I lost the graphic I had used and had to start over after having made numerous attempts to delete the ruined entry.  Aol eventually co-operated.

Now, you will know that I cannot list every single breed of dog, it would be impossible.  So, I thought of some of the most popular and decided to use them in a poll.

Many of you will have dogs that are not listed here.  So, imagine that you do not have a dog.  If you were going out to buy or rescue a canine, which of the ones I have listed would you choose?  You can always mention your own particular breed in comments.  It will be interesting to know the variety of J-Land dogs.

PLEASE NOTE.  This is a multiple choice poll so you can opt for more than one breed.

It is another lovely day and I have been sitting in the garden but it got far too hot.  I shall be going out there later on when it cools down a little.  I shall take my book and just have a relaxing half hour.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, dear friends and readers.

Hello Jeannette,

Another poll...lovely!  Although we had a very intelligent and loving crossbreed, when I was a child I always wanted either and Alsation (I LOVED Lassie!) or a spaniel.  Peter always said if we got another dog he would get a retired greyhound, he feels sorry for them.. I doubt very much if we would though because we go away quite a bit, also go out for the day quite often.  By the way, did you get my postcard that I sent when we went to Bateman's, Rudyard Kipling's home?  Love, Pat   http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/

Jeannette---that was a fun survey; selected quite a few I like.  We had a wonderful Jack Russell shortie terrier named Eddie, who we rescued, and had for @11 years.  He was a blessed companion, just about the greatest dog you'd want to meet; loved just about everyone, even got along with all our cats.  Sad to say, this April he joined the ranks of the "4-legged angel pups".  He was one-of-a-kind and greatly missed.

Can't wait to see the final counts at the end of this one.

I am such a dog lover, it was hard!  They each have their own personalities, you know?  We have three - all different breeds.  A Cocker Spaniel, a Golden Retriever, and a Tennessee Treeing Brindle.  All of them are spoiled rotten.  LOL

Being a dog lover, I go more by the paticular dog's personality. So it'd be hard as to pick from a breed.

Hey Jeannette!  I picked Beagle in the poll because I just have always adored them.  Cute face.  Loving, friendly nature.  Gentle with children.  Intelligent.  And they can really hunt!  But what we have for pets are Boston Terriers.  Many of the same qualities, but they are a more hyper breed.  -  Barbara

I have a very soft spot for terriers - Border or JR.

American Cocker Spaniel

Well, since you said pick as many as we wanted, LOL, I chose a collie (Lassie, as she has a good temperment!), and a dalmation (they are very tempramental, BUT, they are pretty, LOLOLOL), and I choat a cocker spaniel.  I love cocker spaniels, I have my whole entire life.  I guess if I were to really choose, I would have to say a male collie, and a cocker spaniel.  And one more.  An Australian Shepherd.  But only after I had trained it properly.  They are blue shepherd dogs.  Blue and white.  They herd.  Even people do they herd and protect, LOL.  I knew two people that had one.  They are the most intelligent dogs in the world.  You have to keep them active or they will get bored.  They are very loyal, intelligent, nice, and good companions, yet good hard working dogs.  Finally, I would like to say I am mostly a cat person, LOL.  What would I do with a dog if I had to go to Hershey Medical Center with my husband?
