Sun At Last

In truth, I did this entry this in the afternoon but could not resist the above graphic.

I actually managed to get an hour sitting in the sun earlier on, first time this year and it was so nice to sit and listen to the birdsong and watch them flit around.  Still little sign of Spring, just tiny buds on the trees.  Even the Forsythia which is the earliest thing to bloom in our garden is without flower.

So, what I have I been up to?  Mainly wrestling with the computer and Aol.  Could not get online for most of last week, just kept getting error messages that my moden could not connect to the DSL.  I tried everything.  In the end I had to ring aol and wait in the endless queue and think of the money it was costing.  Aol blamed Norton, said it was nothing to do with them.  I had to ring Norton, another half hour wait on the phone.  They talked me through all the possible problems it could be and it was none of them.  They said it was aol.  Back onto aol and they then said it was a problem with the driver.  I would have to delete the driver, they would connect me via dial-up so that I could download the driver again and install it.  I had to wait until the next day. A total of four hours on the phone with the waiting time.  I was at screaming pitch by the end.  So, the following day I uninstalled Norton, just in case, and installed the new driver.  Just to be certain I got rid of Norton completely and switched to something else.  All went well until yesterday when the same problem reared its head again.  Took me over twenty minutes to get online today.  I have given up.  I hope that I can get Dean to sort it all out for me.

Apart from that I have been getting on with various things as I intended but still not done any more to the rug.  Nathan will be eighteen by the time I finish at the rate I am going. I wonder whether an eighteen year old would like Winnie The Pooh?

Our next door neighbour said he saw a rat run across his garden and into ours.  Gave me the horrors.  I cannot stand wild rats, they make my skin crawl.  Neighbour said they have come from somewhere further down the  street.  Mike got two traps and set them where the rat came through (we have not seen anything) but today he checked the traps and the bait is gone but no rats caught.  He has re-baited them and we will try again.  If not, we shall have to resort to poison, making absolutely sure that the dogs cannot get to it.  Yuk, I hate even writing about them.

Jack is growing by the day and turning into a lovely dog.  He is so good with other dogs and people, quick to learn commands and is a pleasure to own.

Of course he still chews things although he has so many toys he had done little damage around the house except for an old pair of Mike's shoes.  What is it about puppies and shoes or slippers? They just love to get them.

It would be nice to think the weather would stay like it has been today when the last two photos were taken.  That way I could get out and do work in the garden.  It needs lots of attention as we have a glorious crop of weeds.  However, they have forecast rain for the next three days.  Well, at least that will help with the drought.  I was just glad to get my hour sitting in the sun today.

I have endless problems with connection and disconnection on aol, I think it is likely that all the antivirus stuff does interfere with it, but have given up complaining and just go back later, reboot, swear! Lovely doggy pics! I too had lovely sun yesterday and was full of energy, today is just yuk and feel like hibernating again. Wacky mother.

Hi hon. I love it when you post pics of Jack. He's adorable and growing so fast. So sorry about the rat. I don't know what I'd do if I ever had to deal with them. I had to deal with mice once and hated it. Rats are far worse. How are you doing? You're always in my prayers.

Hi Jeannette  just a note about your internet problem, I had the same problem, ad I changed the white connection, supplied by AOL to connect broadband, this was the reason.  There should have been extra one supplied in the box.
Wonderful blog

Jack is lovely, so cute!!!  I had probs with my p.c. with McAfee so uninstalled it after just a couple of days, sticking with Norton as I don't have any bother with it!!

When my beagles were pups I lost 8 pairs of shoes and 1 purse before I learned to keep things put away.  I guess you could call me a slow learner.  I can't wait to experience an hour in the sun... it's been bitter cold here.  I am a sun person and have been deprived way too long. My whole body is aching for it.  I love the pictures - those two bring lots of joy to your house!  Hope all is fixed on your computer soon!  'On Ya' - ma

Jack is adorable!!  I had the exact same problem with my PC/AOL last week, but I had assumed it was my router/modem.  Couldn't be bothered to do anything figuring I'd leave it for my dad to sort!!  Miraculously it worked no problem on Monday after steadfastly refusing to connect all last week!!
Grrr @ AOL!!

I'm scared I'm going to have trouble with my new DSL too!
Everytime I turn my pc off, I can't get back on line till I put the disc (for installation) back in & then exit it and all is ok. Sounds like it's gonna be a lot of headaches!

It's nice to look forward to spring...rebirth of the world. Love your pictures, the dogs look so happy. I tell you computers were designed to drive us all nuts! There have been times that I couldn't connect to AOL or the internet, had to keep on turning off and on, shaking this and checking that..etc., made no sense to me either. Hope yours gets over the hicups quickly....Sandi

Hello Jeanette, Wow! Jack is growing very quickly. Beautiful looking dogs you have. I used to have a Border Collie dog, so intelligent and quick to learn - and an amazing football dribbler, better footwork than our local team! H ha.
I, too, have been having problems logging on recently through the ADSL modem, wouldn't connect to AOL after stage 1 until I kept cancelling the screen and trying again. Sometimes took three or four attempts, other times it connected straight away. I think something strange is going on with AOL, it reminded me of my dial-up days when AOL had not got enough modems at their end in operation. I deleted Norton Antivrus and installed AOL McAfee. Still happens though. Logged on first time today - very strange. The sun has disappeared again - will warmer spring days never arrive? Lol.

We have 800 numbers here to call AOL that are free of charge.   I have the McAfee free AOL firewall and virus protection.    The new AOL security center asks me to install it's virus protection but I had problems with it and live emailed AOL and was told about the free McAfee and have stuck with it and have not had any problems.   I hope your problems get fixed.    The photo of Jack running next to Jesse is wonderful.    The other two photos are cut off mid way down.   mark

Love the photos of the pup and dog.  My Mary Jane has those colors, although she is just the opposite.  She is more black than white, lol.  Sorry you have been having computer problems.  Hope all works out and you have NO more problems.  I have been to the point I wanted to smash it with a baseball bat many times!!!!!!

Have a great week!~
