At last the winds have died down although the sky is overcast and it remains chilly. Apparently Spring has come a whole month early this year. In the past couple of years they say it has been a week or two but this year it is a month.
In the botanical gardens at Kew all the spring flowers are out and the trees are in bud. I heard someone on the t.v. saying that Hawthorn blossom is starting to emerge. Apparently the Hawthorn does not throw forth its flowers if it knows there is going to be any more really cold weather. I wonder how they know that, years of study I suppose.
Well, I reserve judgement. We have had snow at Easter before. Last year we were told we were going to have a scorching summer. It did not happen. At the beginning of Autumn we were told we were going to have an artic winter. So far it has not happened.
Thank you for supporting the new funnies journal (yesterday's entry). Those that have visited and taken part seem to enjoy it and that is the main thing. What is life without laughter?
Talking of new journals, Guido has also started another one. If you know of any J-Lander who is in need of moral support for whatever reason, then this is the place to go:-
Poor Daniel is not having a good year so far. First his operation in January and now he has Chicken Pox! There is an epidemic of it in this area and many at his nursery school have it. When I last spoke to Becky, Nathan was showing no signs of it, but there is sometimes a gap. We can only wait and see.
Well, I am going to spend less time on the computer today. I spent a whole day sorting out my alerts and adding you, another day setting up the new journal and popping back to read all yourjokes so I have a stiff back and neck today.
Do not forget to pass both journal addies on to all your friends. That way many more people get to know about them.
Hope your week has been going well. Take care, dear friends and readers.

Best that Daniel gets the chicken pox out of the way early! Less trauma that way. It is bad to get as an adult. My daughter got an immunization against it. I hope it works. Linda
That is such good news to hear Spring may be on its way ,we have lots of things budding in the garden ,very encouraging ,Your idea for the Laughter journal was so very successful my alerts have been pinging away since I clicked on to them ,Poor Daniel chicken pox is such an unpleasant illness all that itching , poor love ,....love Jan xx
It sounds so good to hear you talk about SPRING. Here it is still winter as there is snow on the ground again this morning. When my babes had chickenpox the first one came down with them and then 2 weeks to the day, all the other 6 had them. I'll never forget that. They were so miserable. They were also older, so I think it is better to get them young. I am enjoying your new journal. I haven't found a joke to share yet, but I will. I've heard of people being made well by laughter. It is the best medicine. 'On Ya' - ma

Hope the " Chicken Poxs" don't leave marks, I know one of my grandsons has a mark on his face......nothing to worry about, I call it his beauty spot........lol, DIANE

Hope Daniels's year gets better! {{}}
I need to clear out my alerts & favorites too, & start over. May do that one day soon. :)
Have a good day.
Hugs,

Awwww poor Daniel.........chicken pox.........well, it is better to get it out of the way early, because if you get chicken pox as an adult it can be really, really serious. Hope he is feeling ok. Eileenx
Sorry to hear Daniel has the chicken pox, hope he doesn't get a bad case. Love your graphic, Joni
My eyes are starting to stream and I am sneezing a lot. Could this be yet another sign of spring?
Poor Daniel: better out of the way though.

Poor wee angel. I hope he gets over the itching quickly. i remember my daughter getting them on Christmas Day when she was about four. She disappeared and we found her sliding down the stairs on her back so she could have a scratch. Bless her!
YOur Joke Journal was a touch of inspiration. Well done Jeannette.

Poor Daniel! Now the chicken pox! Give him a big hug for me!
Missie
Oh I can remember the chicken pox, yuck. I thought they had a shot for it now no? You've been busy setting everything up and you did a fine job, everyone is laughing which is a good thing..thank you...love, Sandi
Best he gets it out the way now, we thought Alfie had it but so far it has come to nothing. I did not get Chicken Pox till I was 30!!! Yes it was CP, not shingles cos I was working at a school and caught it from the kids!!! I'd been to a dance the night before the rash came out so I probably infected half of north London!!!
Spring must be coming my eyes are itching. I like the new journal, a good laugh does us good.
Jenny <><
I wish it could stay spring here. Summer in Texas is miserable. We run from air conditioned place to air conditioned place. :-D

Oh dear poor Daniel, chicken pox is a miserable illness. I hope he`s not too itchy. I used Caladryl lotion with my two, it`s not as drying as the usual calamine. It does seem as though Spring is here but I don`t think winter has finished with us yet. Several shrubs in my garden have flowers on them and I know a drop in temperature will put paid to them. Thankfully I didn`t plant my bulbs until late and they aren`t in bud yet.
Love Sandra xxxx
Thank you for letting us know about poor wee Daniel. In a way I hope that Nathan gets the chicken pox as well then it will be all over and done with, before he starts school. It has been ever such a grey dull day here, but tomorrow is going to be sunny !! Love Sybil PS I am enjoying you laughs !!!what a clever idea
have a good friday:)
Deb
Poor Daniel! I hope his case of chicken pox is a mild one!
Lori
The weather puts a whole new spin on global warming....Daniel is having a time of it isn't he...Poor dear. Your in my thoughts hon, haven't had a chance to pop over to the other journal yet. I will try within the next few days hopefully. (Hugs) Indigo
For us, here in So. Cal. I feel it's colder than we've been in past years. But I love it, as long as it's only California cold. Love the graphic!!

We had strong winds & heavy rain from Wednesday afternoon until late Thursday afternoon. I thought for sure the house was going to "sail away." Sorry to hear about Daniel's chicken pox. It is so much easier when they are young. My daughter actually exposed both of my grandkids when the child of a friend of hers had them. The kids had them about the same time and were done with it. My son got them when he was 8 yrs old and gave them to my daughter, who was nearing her 18th birthday. She was so ill, it was scary. She had pox every where on her body & I mean every where ! She was in bed for over a week. Too sick to get up except to use the bathroom. Hopefully they will have light cases and then they will never have to worry about the pox again. Linda in Washington state
Poor Daniel! I hear it's easier if they get it young. Put him in a bath with Aveeno oatmeal bath in the water. It's very soothing and takes away the itching for awhile. I think my son LIVED in the bath during his bout with the Pox.
Poor baby.
take care of yourself,
Pam
I envy your weather. 20 inches of snow here on Ash Wednesday, more today and -35 degree (F) wind chill factors predicted for the weekend. :(

Prayers for Daniel for sure...he has been through so much....
I wish we had your early Spring...I bet it is lovely. Cold here again....we did have a couple of days in the 60's...so short lived. I love your new journal....I have had many laughs going there to visit. I hope you have a great weekend....hugs and love,
Joyce
Oh no poor Daniel. Praying he will get better soon. Although it is better that they have it when they are young.!!!
I love your opening graphic it's beautiful.
Yesterday, in our local newspaper there was a farmer saying that just because the snowdrops are out it doesn't make it Spring.!!!!! And another farmer was also complaining about the weather reports and offered to send the weathermen a piece of seaweed to see if that would help them get it right.
Have a great weekend Jeanette.
Hugs to you
Carolxx
Oh I forgot to say I love your new journal.

Oh Poor Daniel and I'm sure Nathan will be next but it's best they get it out of the way now...
Have a blessed Sunday!
Linda :)
oh dear. . poor Daniel.Probably his immunity was low after surgery or antibiotics.Hope he doesnt suffer too much. Its better to get them over with really.I got them when I was 27 and was very ill.Its just like Spring here in Yorkshire Jeannette.
Hi Jeannette....stopping by to say hello to you. An early spring would be blissful. Lots of us in the US have the pre-spring colds and flu. Tis the chicken pox season for us too. Those little ones always seem to get it this time of the year if they haven't had it already. The flowers and such will be so pretty when they show up. Daffodils will be coming up by end of February here. I think you call them something else? We also call 'em buttercups. Can't wait to enjoy my porch again which I should be able to enjoy some in March on the less cool days. Take care.
Sonya
Awwww poor Daniel - I hope he is ok! Im just catching up with your journal - love Laine xxx p.s. I will put another joke in the funny one when I get one! xx

Hope you don't mind me asking but do you still hear from Claudia (aka Irisclyde) or is it just me.
Morning Jeannette,
Just stopping in to say hello and hoping that you have a great day.
Blessings and hugs,
Lori
Poor Daniel, I hope he's feeling better now. I remember how itchy Chicken pox was when I had it, I hope he's not scratching too much and getting scars. It's been so warm over the past few days, let's hope the hawthorn is right and we've seen the end of the cold weather and we get a summer this year! Just catching up after not being able to get online for a few weeks. Jeannette xx
Just wanted to wish you and Mike a Happy Valentine's Day.
Hope you both had a lovely day.
Hugs

I was afraid I wasn't getting your alerts but I see you haven't done an entry for a while. I hope everything is okay with you & the family.
Lisa
Hi Jeanette,
Love to you and your family....hope the little ones arent suffering too much with the chicken pox...better that they get it when they are little than when they are older as it can be much worse.
Just thought you might like to know that David (shadp) has a new journal now! Not sure if you read his journal before but I thought you probably did....
link is on mine if you're interested in having a peek!

Awww so sorry Daniel has the chicken pox. I love the above graphic. Hummingbirds are so beautiful. I never knew how much I missed jland or my computer until this stay with Emma the past 8 days. But having 4 lil ones under foot every day kept me and emma both busy. I am tired and need about a week to recooperate, lol. (((((((((hugs)))))))
Love ya,
