A grey day now although we did have some sunshine this morning. Still very chilly.
Nathan and Daniel are now well over their Chicken Pox and are their usual bright selves.
I have been having lots of problems with AOL and with my bank. These things are sent to try us as my Dad used to say. Hopefully the bank is sorted out now after another very long telephone call this morning.
I received such disgraceful treatment from Customer Services at AOL that I wrote a very stiff letter to their headquarters. I have received no reply as yet and do not know whether I ever will. I was tamping mad at the way they handled my problems. It is far too long to go into on here but it turned out to be a problem with our telephone exchange and nothing to do with our computer. When you are told by Customer Services that the problem is because you have an extension phone and that you need to replace wiring and cables, then to be hung up on by one representative and have another walk away from the phone and just leave you - well!! I know the person did this because I could hear all the other phone calls going on, this person just stopped responding to me when I said I could not accept what they were saying, that is was a load of nonsense and I wanted to be put through to a supervisor.
I was right, it was a complete and utter load of nonsense, absolute rubbish as the problem was at our telephone exchange and everything was back to normal the following day.
I will not put up with rudeness and I do not suffer fools gladly. It remains to be seen whether I shall receive a reply, cost me the price of a stamp but worth it to tell them what I thought of the service.
Other than that I have been pottering around and also doing lots of reading. Just finished a very good book - Poe, A Life Cut Short by Peter Ackroyd. The life of Edgar Allan Poe. What a sad and haunted man he was. A very good read indeed.
Mike has been out with the camera a few times - just taking local shots, anything that appeals to him - so I am going to share a few of them with you today.
Nice to see the Spring blossom coming out. The clocks change this month and we will be back to lighter evenings. Maybe then I will be able to attempt some little jobs in the garden, nowhere near as much as I used to - one of the sad things about getting older. I used to be able to work in the garden from morning until evening but those days are long gone. As long as it is kept tidyis all that bothers us now.
Well, there really is not much else to tell you. One day is pretty much the same as another at the moment.
I was very sorry to hear that Patrick Swayze is so ill. I loved him in Dirty Dancing and in North and South not to mention his films. I can only say that I hope there is a miracle for him and wish him well in his fight.
Right, lunchtime now so I am off to get myself a sandwich. Hope everything is going well for all of you. God bless.
Love,

Beautiful photographs Jeannette, the area where you live must be really beautiful.
Don't talk to me about aol grrrrrrrr!!!!!!
Know what you mean about not being able to do the things we used to. I know part of my problem is my arthritis worsening, I was banjaxed just putting my Tesco shopping order away :-(
Then I walked to the other side of the village to collect my diclofenac from the chemist and that finished me off for the rest of the day! I must be really out of condition since giving up work.
Yes. my heart sank when I read that Patrick Swayze had pancreatic cancer, a work colleague of mine died of this, as did Pavorotti. :-(
Glad the little ones are now better though :-)
all the best
Freda
glad your all well, aol has been a right pain lately, some days i cant log on, some times i cant write my journal or leave comments, i just give up trying. The worst thing is that blasted password screen, no matter what i type it just prevents me doing anything.Lovely photos, nature is the best!Beckie x
Hi Jeannette, we have had atrocious service over the past 2 - 3 months so that is why we are going to BT as our server; no doubt I will encounter problems with them as well but I do expect better from aol after 14/15yrs of faithful custom. The transfer is going ahead next Tuesday (should have been tomorrow but yours truly typed the MAC code wrong, lol). I will be continuing journalling though so you ain't seen the back of me in that respect, LOL!! love Joan. ps I love the pics
Thank you for sharing those photos this morning. It's such a joy to see that Spring is coming. Everything is frozen, bleak, and snowy and icy here. March in Ohio is well know for a few winter storms and we are having them. As I'm typing this the sun just peeped through a cloudy sky and I'm reminded to be thankful for all my days, even this one. Glad the boys are once again healthy and hope you get to go out and enjoy the fresh air there. 'On Ya' - ma
Great photos Jeannette, seems that Spring is around the corner bit overcast today though. Sorry to hear of your problems with AOL, watch out for your Bill as it's a premium number and can cost, glad to hear you Grandsons are over the Chicken Pox and back to normal. Hope you are both well
Take care
Yasmin

How deplorable to be treated so rudely by AOL - I don't blame you for sending them a letter. I enjoyed the photos, love the little horse, what a cutie!! I was sad to hear about Patrick too. I am Praying he overcomes. Take care.
Lisa
Iam sorry to hear about the way AOL treated you Jeannette ,thet dont care about us any more,so pleased the boys are now better ,and full of energy no doubt ,Oh what we could do with the energy they waste ,I hope Mike is better now and you of course ,Mikes pictures are lovely especially liked the one of the old tree and the dog the pony and the blossom ...love Jan xx
I have written many times about customer service and how poor it is. AOL is so big, you would think they would take better care of their customer service customers...who do not need the extra stress. Just do the job, and take the action needed to fix the problem. How rude they are.
Loved Mikes photos...beautiful.
So happy the boys are well now...
Have a wonderful end to your week...hugs and love,
Joyce
I hate dealing with customer service of any company! The pictures Mike took look great.
Missie
Good to hear from you, Jeannette. AOL seems to be priding itself on offering an appalling service - both sides of the pond, if recent entries are anything to go by. Pleased the boys have gotten over the chickenpox.
Guido
((((((((((((((((((JEANNETTE)))))))))))))))))))))That waas very rude and you had every right to write to them. You shouldnt had to be put through that.I am glad the kids are over the chicken pox,I remember when us kids wer elittle and we all had them togeher.LOL.All 4 of us.I love the pics, very nice.I am sad about Patrick S to,I am praying for Him to pull through.I lvoe Dirty Dancing and Noth and South.
Don't blame you for writing to AOL........they hung up on me once too and I never got the guy's name either! Loved your pix, especially the blossom because I know warmer weather isn't far away. Eileenx
You should of seen what i had to go through over the phone with verizon dsl i wanted to hunt that wench down.
aww....that horse was looking for a bit of sugar, I'm sure!
My husband is the one who handles all the calls for computer service. Lord knows they'd have me crying after 2 minutes on the phone with them.
~Amy
Ooh...such nice pics! I always love seeing photos of course. ; )
Sorry about your AOL experience...it seems customer service is lacking in MOST places these days.
Love,
Nancy
There's no excuse for rudeness. It always seems to be the customer who is in the wrong with aol. Joan (Stranny Dayz) has gone over to BT after 15 years of aol. Don't blae her!

Glad to hear from you! Love the pictures... stunning! Mike has a great eye! Glad the boys are well, too... sending you prayers.

Glad the boys are over their chicken pox, sorry you have having such a chew on with AOL, seems all to common nowadays
have a good weekend:)
Deb
My daughter has just had exactly the same thing happen, they walked off and left her on hold for 30 minutes. They also told her it is her extension wire. But the problems have only started happening since the updates to the new service.
Jenny <><
GRRRRRRRRRR I am so glad I have free AOL. I would be long gone otherwise....
great pictures my friend.... send that nice weather my way please?
hugs

I am so glad to hear the boys are doing better. I love the photo's Mike took. They are beautiful. I fear I am catching another cold. Nose is running, chest congested, sneezing and coughing again, grrrrrr I hope warmer weather comes quick. I was so sad to hear of Patrick having cancer. He is my all time favorite actor ever. Keep warm, and enjoy the rest of the week. ((((((((hugs)))))))
Love,
Cindy xoxo
Hello Jeannette,
Thank hubby for those serene photos. I look forward when I can learn how to do this.
Yes, dealing with agencies can try the best of us. My recent experience after Father's death getting the phone and utility bills sent to his wife has taken me close to 6 months. I said these whole issue caused more upset almost than going through the funeral
Yes, Swayze has always been a favourite and once more it is obvious cancer is oblivious to fame or fortune. Having done 3 years of treatment I hope that he concentrates on that and not try and keep working...but I think he has a very high work ethic.
I know cancer CAN BE BEATEN and personally I am praying for Patrick and his wife Lisa and those close to him...it will be a fight...
Hope you are feeling better and I think of you often Jeannette.
Hugs,
Lori
It was good to read your latest Blog - it made me feel better - feel as if I am the only one with a problem with AOL - it is a nightmare trying to get things sorted, when I go through to customer services I am lucky if I can understand them let alone have a problem put right!!!!!! Anyway as you say these things are sent to try us and they certainly do!!!! Take Care Joy x
Sorry you had such issues with AOL. Was their customer service from India? <lol>
I think it was with AOL that the last time I called, I had to ask for someone that spoke English in less of an accent so I could understand them. I did get another person that spoke better English.
Sonya
AOl is the pits!
The pictures are lovely! he really has a good eye.
I am looking forward to spring also.
I love the photos - delightful! AOL Customer Services once persuaded me that I needed a new computer, because they thought my old one was "corrupted" in some way. So I bought a new computer - then discovered there was nothing wrong with the old one whatsoever, the AOL fault was nothing to do with me at all! The only thing AOL are good at is making you spend money. David.
We are getting terrific rain storms here on the west coast of Florida, miss the sun. Love Mike's picture of the pink trees just so pretty. I know when I heard about Patric's illness I felt so bad. All the fighting that mankind does, think if all the resources could be targeted at finding a cure...but man is stupid....love, Sandi
Nice to hear from you Jeannette. Glad to hear that they boys have recoved from the chickenpox.
The weather is horrid...... i see we are expecting gales tomorrow.... oh the joy of the Briitsh weather.
AOHell stinks...........lol........ i know what you mean because i had a problem with them a while back and they told me the same rubbish. I also had a problem this week with being unable to sign on..... dont know if the server was down again?
Love the photos.......... lets hope Spring appears very soon
hugs Jayne
Hi Jeannette ,Mike photos are so lovely ,love all the trees with the cherry blossom ,theres a few round here but the tree outside our house it comes out a bit later .Glad to hear Mike and your grandsons are feeling better ,hope you are keeping well too. Sorry AOL has given you more trouble ,lets hope its all sorted now ,Enjoy the weekend .......love Jeanxx
Glad to hear the boys are all better! The second photo of the woods looks a lot like many places out in the woods near our house. Funny, huh? A continent away and yet so similar. - Barbara
hI jEANETTE SO GLAD THAT THINGS ARE PICKING UP FOR YOU AND YOUR GRANDCHILDREN HAVE AT LAST GOT OVER THE CHICKEN POX. MIKE SURE CAN TAKE A BEAUTIFUL PHOTOGRAPH. THANKS FOR SHARING KATHIE.
i love the pictures. the one under the horse looks like some large prehistoric cockroach, lol.
i have missed reading you. glad the young ones are on the mend. i, too, am saddened by patrick swayze. i love him, as an actor and a person. he is one of the few decent role models we have in movies today.
be blessed, and don't let aol bugger you.
regina
Love the swans! I was sad to read about patrick Swayze too...
hope you are feeling better...
Lyn
Great pics and nice graphic!!! I miss hearing from you!! Hope you are well!!!
Joann
Jeannette, Mike's photos are lovely! I can't believe your flowered trees are blooming. We are probably 5 weeks away from that in northern US. I'm glad to hear that things are finally going fairly well for you and your family besides the irritating treatment from AOL. I've had some skirmishes myself with them. Take care! Love xx Chris
I never got this alert =(. Surprise, huh? Beautiful pictures!! xox
