A couple of photographs of our Aquarium as promised. I had a difficult job on my hands, took about fourteen pictures but because the fish dart around so much, most of them are blurred. So I picked the two best.
I was also up against light reflection as the tank faces large windows.
We have in there Guppies, Glowlight Tetras, Neon Tetras, two Leopard Corydoras (catfish) and one Sucking Loach.
It is so nice to have tropical fish again. Many years ago I had quite a number of large tanks. We lived in a much bigger place then. I bred Rift Valley Cichlids as well as the more common varieties we have now and sold the youngsters back to the aquatic dealers. It was a great hobby of mine. We cannot do that now because of lack of room but we get great pleasure out of our little finned friends. There is nothing more relaxing than watching fish. So, with all those in the pond outside and now these indoors, we can watch them all year round.
Him indoors is out giving the hedge its last cut before Spring. He thought he was going to get away with it because it was raining earlier. When it stopped, even he had to admit that it needed doing badly. It is not the trimming he minds, it is all the clearing up afterwards.
Nathan had his first taste of "solid" food yesterday - baby rice. He seemed quite surprised Becky tells me but enjoyed it. There will be no stopping him now!
My thoughts go out today to those killed in the train crash at Reading, Berkshire and to their poor families. There is speculation that a man planned suicide by parking his car on a crossing and letting a train hit him. Nobody seems quite sure at the moment. The investigation is more concerned with how a saloon car could cause an entire train to leave the rails completely. My thoughts are also with our two soldiers so terribly injured in Iraq yesterday. One had his legs blown off. Today I shall pray for peace as I always do.
Now, I had better get some housework done as it will soon be lunchtime. Wishing you all a very happy week.

You aquarium is beautiful, you have a lot of greenery in it. We have one and I also love to sit and watch the fish. Are your plants live plants or artificial? I have wated to try to put live ones in ours, but not sure how they would do. I am sorry to hear about the train wreck and the soldiers being injured, I pray for peace also. God Bless You My friend
I only have a small fish tank now, used to have a much larger one, but still not as large as yours! It is peaceful watching the fish swim around isn't it, and tropical fish are such beautiful colours. The tank is lovely, with all the plants - do they continue to live, or do they die off after a while?

Your fish tank looks very nice :-)
You have quite a thing going there! I am much to lazy to have an aquarium of any kind, which is sad, because they are quite calming and soothing...JAE
What a lovely aquarium, I love the church in there. I think your fish will enjoy swimming around their tank. I do like aquariums and Jim has always been after one but we dont really have the space because the shape of our rooms. But it`s nice to look at other peoples, very restful.....Sandra x
What a lovely acquarium. My husband and I, at one time, had six in a den. We were managing a Mobil Home court at the time and when people came to pay rent they'd ask if they could check out our acquariums. It was awesome. Beautiful fish, costly but fun having...and meeting so many wonderful people. Thanks for sharing your pictures. *Barb*
I miss my fish tank! I had a beta named Gus. He lived for a few years before I gave him away. My cat used to bop him and watch him and I think he became neurotic from that. Gus used to get excited when I came to feed him and talk to him. Fish are more intelligent, or atleast goldfish are, than people realize. What a beautiful tank you have there, Jeannette! Hugs, Val
my cats would have a field day in the same room as ure tank lol x

Superb photo's Jeannette. Guppies I know of, weird name for a fish ain't it. The supermarket jaunt, well done Wheyhey, you were very brave. Think I walked with you with the way you wrote that piece ' my feet gripped the floor', could feel that. Nathan on solids, nope, no stopping him now, a sign of happiness and contentment. Take care xxR
Pretty good photos Jeanette! Aquariums appeal to me & I'm wondering whether to get one. They say that watching fish swim around can be quite soothing. But have you seen Finding Nemo??? Brilliant film :)
Your photographs turned out beautifully, Jeannette. It's quite an elaborate aquarium you've got there. I can see why it took you so long to get it done. Well worth the hard work, though. Now you can really enjoy the fish. Something you might find a little interesting. My parents had an aquarium. When I got married and moved out of the house, they replaced me with a new fish for their tank. It was a simple gold fish. My mother named him Jazbo. He was an orangy gold color, very beautiful. He became very attached to my mother and when he saw her approaching, he would become very excited, waiting for her to open the top and feed him. Years passed and he outlived all the other fish. All his scales turned to white. He was like a little old man. They never put anymore fish with him as they didn't want to upset him in his old age. He lived to the ripe age of 13! When he died, my mother was so upset, she buried him in the back yard. She could not bring herself to flush him away. I always teased her about replacing me with a fish. Seeing your aquarium and reading about your fish reminded me of Jazbo. Take care.
