It is going to be a scorcher today in the South East, so they say and hotter tomorrow. Not my kind of weather. I like it pleasantly warm. No doubt it will be very quiet as well because England are playing their next game in The World Cup later on today. Come on boys, show us how you can really shine!
Nathan had a lovely Birthday. He loves his farm and has already spent a long time playing with it. We saw them for some of the day and then they went to the beach where Nathan was able to paddle in the sea and have a huge ice-cream. He collected some shells which he gave to me yesterday, just ordinary seashells but they will be of great sentiment to me as they are the first gift he has ever "found" for me himself.
Here are some pictures I am sharing with you:-
It is a very serious job opening presents.
This just gets better and better.
Shouldn't there be water in here?
Lovely candle, now, what should I wish for?
All the time this was going on, Daniel was enjoying himself with a new friend. Well, not exactly new. We bought the lamb when our late Pip was a puppy really to use as a prop for some photographs but Pip loved it and used to cuddle up to it (it has been washed since then). So, we have had it a very long time. Mike has been cleaning out the loft - well starting to clean it. There is so much stuff up there. We moved here from a much bigger property and kept as much as we could as we never knew if we would move again (we would if we could). As another home purchase now is extremely unlikely not to say impossible, we thought it was high time a clearance was made. Mike came across "Pip's" lamb and Daniel took to it straight away as you can see
He loved cuddling it and ringing the bell around its neck whilst he snuggled up with Daddy.
Talking of Daniel, I would ask you all to send out loving thoughts for him and good wishes. He has had a lot a health problems over the last few months which I have not written about on my journal. The doctor decided that he needs to see a specialist and a hospital appointment has come through for him for this coming Thursday morning. We are all praying that his problems can be identified and sorted out quickly. He will most certainly need blood tests to start with and this is not a pleasant experience for a baby. God bless him.
I have not been doing much lately - too hot. I have been reading quite a lot and have sold several books (from the loft clearance) online. Watering the garden seems endless. Our lavendar is in full bloom at the moment in the front garden and the smell is wonderful
It is a shame though. Normally the lavendar would be swarming with bees. This year we have only seen about three. The long winter and bad spring seems to have decimated them. Likewise, butterflies. We have not seen a single one in the garden this summer. We even put up a butterfly "house" You put in a mixture of sugar and water and it comes supplied with butterfly attractant which they are supposed to be unable to resist. Nothing. Such a pity, I love to see the butterflies flitting from flower to flower. No ladybirds either. The changing climate is most certainly affecting the insect population.
I am going to try and visit as many of your journals as possible this weekend. However, I am not going to push things and as I have written before, it gets very hot where my computer is. When it gets unbearable, I retire to the bedroom where it is much cooler. Also I want to watch the England match this afternoon.
So, taking all that into account, I am off to put some washing in the machine and have a tidy up whilst it is still relatively cool.
Have a lovely weekend everyone

I hope Daniel will be OK having his blood tests done, I love the photo of him and his lamb! I haven't seen so many butterflies in gardens but the South Downs is swarming with them. Had quite a few bees in our hospital garden. I'm glad Nathan had a great birthday, have a good weekend! Jeannette xx
What great pictures, the boys are so adorable. I'm sorry that Daniel has been ill and I hope he will be ok. Your graphics are awesome today, may I "borrow" the black cat one? Linda
Jeannette The pictures of Nathan are lovely he certainly looks like he had a great Birthday how lovely he collected shells for you from the beach ~ Love the pic of Daniel with the Lamb it is just great ~ my thoughts will be with him as he goes for those tests ~ I do hope they go well and don't cause him too much stress ~ they can be very daunting for a little one ~ I havn't seen many bees or butterfies and certainly no ladybirds ~ we really do need these insects ~ Ally
Your two grandbabes are so adorable. I love the picture of thw swimming pool - I can just see them splashing away ! I will certainly be praying for Daniel. May our dear Lord bless this little one with healing and guide the doctors caring for him. My little 'Sweetheart' has been seeing specialists since she was 6 months old and she'll be 4 in October this year. She goes regularly for those blood tests and manages a smile for the nurses. Try to keep cool ! 'On Ya' - ma
The cat graphic is lovely, if it were on a white bkground I'd snag it! LOL

Wonderful pictures! Hope all goes well with the little one. It hurts when they get sick. Don't truly understand what is happening. He is in my prayers.
It's gonna be a hot one here today too. The forecast is 94 & sunny - hot stuff!
The pictures are precious. I'm keeping Daniel in my prayers - it's so hard when the little ones hurt. We just wish we could take it from them.
I hadn't really thought much about it but we haven't seen as many butterflies as usual this year either. Our butterfly bush is usually full of them, but I realize now I've only seen a few. Now bees - that's a different story. Get you some hollyhocks and you'll have more bees than you can shake a stick at. LOL! We planted them last year, so they didn't do anything till this year and they are growing up, up, up! And full of bees.
Have a great Saturday, Jeannette.
Hugs,
Gwynn
Hope everything goes well for Daniel on Thursday.
Enjoy your weekend and enjoy the football (tough choice between England and Portugal for a Scottish girl!!)
Gill xx
Glad that Nathan had a great Birthday. Your pictures are so good. The one of Daniel snuggling with the lamb is precious. I will be in prayer him and hope they can find out what the problem is at the hospital. Your lavender and other flowers are very pretty. We had several butterflies in the early spring but haven't been seeing any of the larger ones lately. Of course I haven't planted as many flowers this year either to help draw them. A cousin of mine has a hugh butterfly bush that is blooming and she said she has seen very few butterflies but last year it stayed covered with them. Hope you weekend goes well. Th weather is supposed to be 96 and 97º for today and tomorrow. Hugs, Helen
what a nice entry today with all the wonderful pictures of the kids and your lovely lavendar. I hope and "pray" all goes well with the tests and it is cleared up very soon. Sandra
I'm so glad that Nathan had such a wonderful Birthday! He's such a handsome boy! Love his serious expression when opening the gifts LOL!
I would treasure the shells, also! Those are priceless gifts!
I have kept all of my first "gifts" from my boy when he was little. They vary from shells, candy, beads, buttons....etc! Oh and can't forget all of the drawings! LOL! I've still got 'em, too!
Daniel looks so cute with the little lamb. What a doll baby. I will be praying that they are able to resolve his health issues. Both boys are adorable.
Your yard looks wonderful! Take care of yourself. Enjoy the weekend.
Pamela
The photos are lovely Jeannette, it certainly is serious business opening presents ;o) Glad Nathan had such a great Birthday!
Thoughts for Daniel, and for the whole family. I do hope that whatever it is can be, as you said, identified and sorted out quickly.

Nathan's birthday pictures are so cute! He looks so intent on getting to what is inside that paper! Daniel and the lamb is adorable. I will be saying extra prayers for him and your family as you all deal with finding out what is going on in his little body. I pray it is easily identified and easy to take care of. Your garden is beautiful. The lavendar is so pretty. I can close my eyese and smell it all the way here in California. Please continue to take good care of yourself. Sending hugs and prayers... Kathy
Thanks for sharing those adorable pictures!! So happy to see Daniel getting into the hospital so quickly. Will definately be in prayer for him, all who attend him, and the family. - Barbara
Hi Jeanette, by now you know England lost!! and I did think that W.Rooney was out of order temper wise, but then it is such a tense game, not one I normally watch, but then with England playing , I settled down to watch it. What a shame we are out of the world cup!
I love the photo's you post, how do you get them so clear without losing the quality and making the page too big like mine? You are a great blogger!!
and glad you are back.

Great birthday pictures ! Your lavendar looks beautiful and lush like mine. My white lavendar is just begining to bloom. It's about 85 degrees here today. I got beds changed, laundry done and vacuumed the house before noon in my nightgown. Now I have to run out and pick up a few groceries. Wish you were here, we could run thru the sprinkler in my back yard. Linda in WA
The rain and floods here have ruined my lavender! Yours looks beautiful! Thanks for sharing the pics of the boys. I swear I see them growing everytime I see new pictures. Stay cool.

What are the names of some of the books you are reading ?What kind of books do you like to read ? What is the loft clearance you mentioned in your entry if you don't mind me asking. I would like to be in your neck of the woods so I could see the lavendar in bloom we don't have any here in Georgia. We also haven't seen any butterflies here in Georgia I wonder where they have went. I hope that the match over there in England goes well. Take care my dear friend. Byyyye for now.

Am playing catch up on blogs today...Fingers crossed for Daniel...If it's anything you think i can help with then don't hesitate to shout...Blood tests aren't pleasant at best of times but sometimes babies/toddlers are more resilient about them...I know that mikey was good about them when he was a toddler and had epilepsy yet now he'd scream blue murder if u tried to do one on him Caff xxxx
Great shots-the little guy is in my prayers. ~Diane~
