Two years ago today I was looking at AOL mainscreen and the word "blog" caught my eye. What drew me to it I do not know. Before I knew it I had taken the plunge and created my own.
After three entries with absolutely no comments, I did a fourth entry saying that it was obvious that nobody was reading and so I had decided to finish it there and then but I left that entry for twenty-four hours - just in case. Of course, that is when I got some comments. I thought I might be able, at a push, to keep the journal going for a couple of months. Now, here we are two years later and I am still writing it. Not so often these days. I have written so much about my family history, myself, my childhood, holidays, memories etc. that it is hard to come up with anything different now. I live such a quiet and restricted life that there is not really much to write about there.
However I shall keep popping up from time to time as I could not imagine my life without a journal these days. So, I would like to wish my own journal-
However, my thanks go to all of you, my dear readers. Had you not gone on reading and commenting then I could not have gone on writing. I am proud to be a part of this great community. I am touched and honoured by the friendships that I have made and I do thank you from the bottom of my heart. So, for all of you
I hope to be back with another entry soon when this weather cools down. They say today might be the hottest day for a hundred years. It is certainly far too hot for me but I could not let this particular day pass unmarked.
God bless you all

Happy Anniversary to your Journal!!!!!!!!!!
I have nothing to write about for sure, such a hum drum boring life I have, but I enjoy just putting in a few paragraphs from time to time sprinkled with poems or jokes! With hopes that I might touch at least one life who needs touching!
Hugs, Sugar
happy journal anniversary and glad the word caught your eye
Congrats on 2 yrs! I am really glad i have met you thru J Land.
Love,lj
Happy Birthday to your journal. I have really enjoyed reading about your family and your pets. Seems as if I know all of you personally. I do hope the weather cools down there soon. It is hot in all the US now. I saw the weather the other day and it was showing all the states in red. We have had a few showers which helps but then the next day it is steaming hot. I got nauseated two times ouside today even in the shade and for around thirty minutes or less each time. This is one time I will enjoy seeing cooler weather. Hugs, Helen
Happy Anniversary to your Journal. I am very happy that you continued and that we had a chance to make your acquaintence. During conversations with my hubby I'll sometimes make reference to something that you wrote and I refer to you as my friend in England, which I feel you are. I believe the journal has touched an inner part of you and brought out the writer. I loved reading the histories that you have regaled us with, you do so with a beautiful writer's touch. Reach back to that inner child in you and write what you have lived, your stories about when you were a secretary were so funny and endearing. Take care....Sandi http://journals.aol.com/sdoscher458/LifeIsFullOfSurprises
Happy Birthday to you journal ! I'm glad you perservered and didn't give up. I kept up with mine for lots longer than you with no comments...and I still don't get many but I love the ones that do come my way. It is very hot here in the USA too. All we can do is take it easy and wait for the weather to change. I'll be looking forward to your next post ! It doesn't have to be anything spectacular, I'd still read it. 'On Ya' - ma

Hello Jeannette, I'm adding my anniversary wishes to your journal along with all the others. I too am glad you decided to keep writing, I so enjoy reading your posts. A couple of times I have been tempted to write my own and set it up but then not done anything about it, perhaps I should now! Whenever I go into my emails I always look to see if there is anything from you, I can understand how you don't feel like writing all the time but I'm always happy to see you there when you do!
Love to you and your family,

Happy birthday to your journal. I tried to comment this morning but I kept getting the blue page on everybody's blog so I gave up! I'm glad you persevered in the beginning, it's not till you get to visit others that you get your own readers. I find it useful if I'm trying to remember things I've done, I can always look it up on my journal! Hope the weather cools down for you, It's certainly very hot! Jeannette xx

Jeanette, happy anniversary
Congratulations on two years Jeannette! You have put so much effort into writing entertaining and biographical material. The heat here is still going on as I write in August. My low lumbar has a sharp pain that makes getting up from a chair difficult. I am not on the computer much and have been trying to work on my home construction despite the pain. If it does not get better I will have to see a doctor again. Hope things are going well for you, mark
