Hope you all enjoyed New Year's Eve whatever you were doing. Mike and I just cuddled and kissed at midnight. We had a cup of tea instead of any alcohol. Neither of us drink and we were not going to buy any just for one night. We opened the front door to let the New Year in and the back door to let the old year out. Then we watched the celebrations on t.v. The fireworks in London were spectacular, the best ever. The noise of the fireworks going off around here was deafening.
So how did you spend your Eve? Did you have a party? Did you go to a fireworks display? Did you have a family gathering? Was your Hogmanay good and are you hung-over today? Did you just go to bed and not bother? Please share in comments.
Once again a very Happy 2008 to you all.

Happy New year Jeannette and Mike.I spent the New Year with my sister and brother in law at my house. We had a few lagers and some mint baileys. . . . it was very nice.Spent a lot of time laughing as my guests are very funny, even more so when ive had a drink. . lol.
Happy New Year to you both.
We went to a party. I don't drink much though, but I still had a great time. My daughter and her boyfriend drank enough for me though. They were very merry. I don't think they feel too good this morning though!!!
I was dissapointed that we didn't have fireworks. I didn't hear any round by us.
Have a great day.

A very Happy New Year to you and Mike ,Maurice and I joined other Family members at a party ,where we had a lovely buffet meal .a disco ? lots of laughs and I drank orange juice ,so no hangover ,...love Jan xx
Ken and I didn't do anything special last night. There was a fireworks show near here but I could only see the very top parts of them from here so I didn't bother to get my camera out or didn't stay out it the cold long to watch it. I did get woken up by fireworks a little before midnight. They lasted about an hour. I got up and came to the computer and played around on it for a while. Very exciting evening, LOL. Hope you and Mike have a very good day. Hugs, Helen
I don't celebrate, I get too tired and don't have anyone to celebrate with. I used to go out along time ago. I tried to force myself and stay up with my ex, just to watch him get drunk and usually end up ruining things. Now I just go to bed! Happy New Year to you! Linda
Very boring here, we watch Jools Holland on TV, just the two of us. Happy New Year
Mary
Your evening sounded perfect....with Mike...just like mine was with my husband. Wishing you both, and your family the best for 2008....I pray it will be a good year for all of us. Hugs and love,

(((((((((((((((JEANNETTE)))))))))))))Sounds like you had a good time bringing in the New Year.I went to sleep right at 12.LOL.I wasnt feeling good.
Happy New Year to you both ! I spent the evening with my next door sister and the neighbor on the other side of us. We sat around the table remembering days gone by. My youngest son and his wife were in town visiting and they went off to a party, but left their new pup for me to dog sit. A pup she is for sure. She woke me at 3:30 am. I managed to let her out ant then fell back asleep on the sofa for the rest of the morning til about 8. A winter storm is coming our way today.
I'll keep you and your family in my prayers . May our dear Lord bless you all with the happiest of new years. 'On Ya' - ma
hum never heard of that tradition thats a new one for me
Again, I wish you and your family a very happy New Year!

Happy new year to you and Mike, Jeannette.
As I wrote in my post, I went to bed at 4.30 and arose at 1pm. A bit hungover, but not too bad.
The Chap went up at 7 pm as usual; I sat up till 10 watching `Flying Down to Rio' on my Sky box. Then I went to bed with a good book. Made up for it today, though! Had a ginormous bonfire, and did a lot of washing.
Happy 2008.
Bunny xx
I welcomed the new year in alone. Jim was asleep as was rebecca. I did watch the displays from all over the world and I saw the display going off around Big Ben. It was fabulous, a wonderful display. Have a wonderful, happy new year. (((((hugs)))))
Love,
Cindy xoxoxo
I was already to go to work and got called to stay home. I went out briefly to watch the fireworks then played pogo until I got sleepy. No bubbly. Hubby had already been sleeping for hours. I did wish the dog happy new year, LOL.

Jeannette Happy New Year to you all ~ Sounds a perfect way to bring in the New Year a Kiss and a Cuddle :o) ~ Ally x
Just a quiet evening in, watched some of the displays on TV, but the same as you it was deafening locally..lol.
Happy New Year

Good morning, Jeanette....I loved what you did about the doors! What a symbolic entry into a New Year! I think I will hold onto that one and use it next year. I have seen many graphics, but I enjoyed the simplicity and beauty of yours the most for some reason. Maybe because I love white roses, or vanilla colored, lol. Very nicely done! Glad you both had a wonderful evening without a wake up call of a headache. I don't drink either, and did not miss it or the hangover today. Maybe I should call my eldest daughter and see if she missed it too, hmmmm. LOL
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year to you mike and your family.
I would like to thank you for sharing your highs and lows during the last year and I look forward to many more blogs in 2008.
I really hope this year you have an improvement in your health, thats all any one can ask for. once again Happy New Year.
love from christine
Hi Jeannette,
I hope you and your family have a very healthy, Happy New Year! I watched the ball go down at Times Square on TV and stayed close to the phone because my brother in law was having emergency surgery to have his appendix removed....he was officially the last surgery for that hospital for 2007. Not a good way to start the New Year though, huh?
Take Care,
~Bilinda~
Happy New year-may you be blessed with good health.
That is nice -the opening and closing of the doors, never heard that before.
Have a good one---

My New Years Eve was very quiet. My Joe gets up before the crack of dawn each day, so he goes to sleep by 9 PM and does not change his routine even on holidays. We are such opposites. I could dance all night and sleep all day. So I had my glass of eggnog (homemade & dangerous!) toasting in the New Year with the falling ball in Times Square (A place I'm very familiar with, worked closeby). When I went into bed I kissed my better half on the forehead, wishing him a Happy New Year. I'm really not a party animal anymore...now in my younger days...a different story....Happy New Year to you and yours dear...love, Sandi
Your evening sounds very similiar to ours. We took a nice hot soak in our spa and star gazed for a time then came in and watched a little television. It was the first time since 2000 my husband has stayed up to ring in the new year with me so it was nice having him to greet 2008 with. I like the quiet new years, it has been years since I've gone out and whooped it up.

Spent the time with a dear friend, then fell into a coma. What a great start to a mystery-year which 2008 is predicted to be! Numerologists are going crazy, can't wait to see what in the great world is in store. Happiest!! xoxoo CATHY
We were in Luton, gigging, and the audience had to be the most miserable bunch of people ever!! The band played their socks off and nothing was good enough!! Did not help that they closed the bar in that room at 11pm (we played till 1 am!!) Not a good memory but at least we know we did a good job!!!! Happy New Year Jeannette
Happy new year Jeannette!! I'm glad you had a nice New year's Eve. We went to a party at a friends house. I didn't get too plastered though so no hangover today!! lol I hope 2008 brings you many blessings, good health, peace and prosperity. Love, Shelly
Glad you enjoyed your snogging on the couch !!! Mary and I spent it watching the boring TV and having a couple of Rum and Cokes... As midnight rang out like you back and front doors open to let the new year in and old year out, I phoned Sarah then Margaret the shortly afterwards my beloved niece Jacqueline phone from Worcester. And so the New year has started. I have had my sister Margaret and Mitch over for dinner today..they have just left. I will now go and get the new calenders up...not even got that done yet. Was up at 6.45 and started right away to get the dinner organised for later and really hardly stopped till they arrived.. Have a wonderful year filled with only good things Much LOve Sybil xx
We stayed up with the kids, watched a movie, then the ball drop in NYC! A toast with sparkling cider, kisses all around, then kids and adults off to bed!!! lol
be well,
Dawn

Jeannette, I had a couple of drinks then I had a couple of drinks for you and Mike. Then I went to bed and set the alarm for 4 AM EST to watch the fire works in Seattle from the Space Needle. Linda in Wash. said I should do that. After two hours , not having seen anything but the lights in the city I went back to bed.
Have a great new year, Bill
Happy New Year........ours was quiet for a change, but we still enjoyed it. Eileenx

We went out to eat, then stayed home in front of the fire.
It was nice.
Last night was our Wedding Anniversary as well as New Year's Eve. I read while Lloyd watched a cowboy movie on the TV until midnight when we gave one another the "last kiss of the year." We listened to the neighbors' fireworks while we shared a sandwich and soda.
;^) Jan the Gryphon
Happy New Year Jeannette. My new year was spent home in bed trying to sleep.
Hugs Sunny
I like the idea of opening the doors to the let new year in, and the old year out. Mine turned out to be much more than I originally planned, but we had a great time.....

Hi Jeannette, My husband and I have a fun New Years Eve tradition that we have carried out for about 25years now. I sweep the old year out while he takes a picture of me doing it. Sometimes I am in my nightie, sometimes a robe, at other times I am wearing shorts or jeans.I sweep it out with a vengeance some years because I am glad to see it go. It is always fun. Family looks forward to the pictures. That is what we do at midnight. Then we talk to our youngest daughter on the phone. Happy New Year to you and your family! Mary
I like that open the front door and then the back door! Never heard that one before. We had a pretty quiet evening. Watched Oceans 13, watched the New York celebration and went to bed. No alcohol, hubby's is recovering alcoholic.

Ours was very quite, we celebrated the night before with our new grandbabies. I got up this morning and started the year off at workout class. Happy New Year, Joni

We watched movies with the boys and then we all toasted with some lemon lime soda at midnight... Then went to bed and listened to the neighborhood set off illegal fire crackers.....
Linda :)
We shared a very similar New Year's Eve. I wanted to go watch fireworks but decided I'd rather stay warm. So we watched the fireworks in Downtown Chicago and the ball drop In New York City on TV. Have a happy and healthy New Year.

Um i was in bed by eight o clock and felt awful! Beckie x
Happy Belated New Year to you both.
I spent New Year with my 2 yr old grandson while my daughter went out to celebrate. My eldest daughter and boyfriend were here too. We watched the fireworks on BBC and i have to agree with you Jeannette they were the best ever, so very pretty....saying that after spending over a million pounds on them they should have been....lol. My only grouch was that at some stages there were too many going off in front of the London Eye that it was obscured, but saying that they were still outstanding.
I wish you and you family a very happy, healthy 2008
hugs Jayne
