This is where our daughter lives. It is about six miles from us.
The first two are different views of some cottages which are just next to the river. Built in 1758.
Below is one of the two pubs. Originally just called "The Smugglers", it has been renamed as you can see. It fronts directly onto the river so the views are lovely. This area was rife for smuggling because of the river and its many creeks.
Now for two shots of the river -
In Elizabethan times there used to be a wooden bridge across the river. This was much later replaced with a ferry but both are long gone now.
And finally
Because I like Swans!

Great Shots! I like all the photo's. You are so lucky..to have your daughter living so close to you. I also LOVE swans, we are fortunate in that we have Mute Swans summer here. Tell your hubby, I really enjoyed the picts. Deborah
I love the pics, The cottages and the pubs are wonderful historic buildings. Your pics look very professional. Thanx for sharing them. God Bless You My Friend
Lovely pics Jeannette - I like swans too, so graceful, but big bullies when you've a loaf of bread in your hand! Throwing bread at ducks, geese and swans is one of my son's favourite past times, he has no fear!!!

Wonderful pictures. What a wonderful area for your daughter to live in. Margo
A pint on that pub bench would be very nice.
Gorgeous pictures Jeannette. You both live in idealic surroundings, it was lovely to see them..........and the swans, so elegant. Just great xxR.
Loved the pics Jeannette - difficult to pick a favourite but perhaps the first boat one because it's so colourful. I am really envious of someone's ability to take such super photographs - someone has a real 'eye'!
Brilliant pics again thanks Jeannette :-) I like swans they are so graceful.
Love the pic of the smugglers inn. Makes me go all thirsty now! Looks like you live in a nice part of the world.
Love those pictures! Thanks for sharing them.. They remind me of New England here int he states.. I lived there once and lived ia former carriage house in a quaint little area that had the famous sinking of the "Gaspee".. if you have ever heard of that.. the Gaspee was from England and this was during one of the wars..
So much of New England really has UK influence obviously...
:) Peace and Blessings Melaney
