Well, this flu bug has gone to my chest now as it has done with Becky. She is very unwell which is not good in pregnancy. I have been cough, cough, cough all day and bringing up awful and discoloured phlegm and I am very wheezy. Decided I had better try and get some anti-biotics. Hate to take those things and I know they are over-used but when you have an infection and I most definitely have........
So we contact the doctor. Remember it is Monday and doctors are busy after a weekend. Would you believe they have no doctors on today!!!!! One is off sick, one has done his morning stint and gone home. The very nice lady doctor who had joined the practice and whom I mentioned some time back as having been very helpful to me , has left!!! They just cannot keep doctors there, we have new locums practically every week and it is obvious why. The two partners do two half days per week each and not one hour more. Other than that it is left to whomever they have taken on to run the practice practically single-handed. Nobody is going to stand for that so after a few weeks they depart.
As nobody but a doctor can sign prescriptions, there is nobody there to authorise any medications today. The receptionist told us they are ringing around frantically trying to find a doctor to come in. If they have been lucky then I shall know when I phone again at 5.30p.m as requested to see if a a prescription is ready for me. If not, I have to try again tomorrow. In the meantime I continue to cough and cough and to feel ever more unwell. Tony Blair ought to try being registered with our doctors!
So, I am not a happy bunny I can tell you. In fact, I think this afternoon I shall retire to my bed and sleep. Not a good start to the week. Oh well, hopefully things can only get better. Hoping that Becky improves quickly although she is lucky and has marvellous doctors. She phoned for an appointment this morning and got one straight away for her and for Nathan as they are both ill. So, at least she is being well looked after.
Well, no use moaning on. Have to make the best of it and hope I get anti-biotics soon.

Aw,sorry you are not so well ,same old story regarding the doctors surgeries up and down the country. What a lovely building that is.I would love to live in a place like this.
Feel better soon, Jeannette! ~~Kath~~
P.S. Is that a thatched roof? I've never seen one quite like that!
~~K~~
Poor you. I thought our doctors were bad. What`s the point of being partners is they are hardly ever there. Maybe they do private work the rest of the time. A couple of ours do. It`s no use to you if you can`t get an appointment, let alone a doctor to see you when you are ill. I do hope you get to see somebody soon and they will give you someting that will make you feel better very soon. The house is gorgeous, lovely photo! You take care Jeannette, ((((hugs)))) Sandra xxxx
I hope you feel better soon pet....I've got the flu now as well...I usually feel pretty bad anyway but now I'm even worse so I'm having a break from journals for a bit...I'm doing my best to read my regular ones though. Thought I'd leave a comment to say hi and hope you manage to get hold of a doctor soon! It's outrageous that they have no doctors on...
ttfn, love Amy x
So sorry that you and family are feeling bad today. My daughter had that mess even after having had a flu shot and the cough thing lasted for over two months.
Hope all of you will soon get to feeling better. I said a prayer for all of you. I love the old house, it's very pretty. Helen
Aww sweetie, I hope you feel better soon. We had that flu with the coughy Phlegh afterwards. It stinks I tell you! The picture however is gorgeous! It looks very relaxing and cottage like...
Your in my thoughts and prayers for quick recovery and some anti's ;o)
Love & Hugs,

Jeannette, (((((hugs))))) to you my dear. Sorry you feel so poorly again. There was me, moaning about my Dr.s last week, at least I got an appointment eventually. Disgraceful that there are no Dr.s there at all, I hope they manage to find someone, sounds like you really need those anti-biotics. Wishes for a speedy recovery on their way to you, Becky and Nathan.
Lovely pic, lucky owners indeed!!

Feel better soon!!
Lots of rest and fluids...

I know what it's like to have really naff doctors. Am struggling hard to keep going at all, my doctors are like Scotch mist. Have been told to look for another GP quickly by others in medical profession. I can't, I'm so tired. I'm doing Tony Blair a favour instead and opting out - that will be a huge saving on his Health Service budget!. Don't care what happens anymore, it can't get much worse. Hope you get some help though my friend. Thinking of you.

Oh Jeannette you sound aweful! Too bad you can't go to your daughter's doctor. In our plan, you can go to any doctor who takes our type of insurance...any office, any town, anywhere. We could go to the hospital ER too. Don't let things go for too long. You don't want to end up in the hospital.
I can't believe that nice woman doctor has left! She sounded so good, and you got on so well with her - that really is appalling! I do hope this nastiness passes quickly, must be so unpleasant for you.
David.

{{{Jeannette))),
Hope you get your prescription, and recover quickly. Sorry, to hear the women Doctor left...maybe she is still somewhere in your area? Like the photo of the old Pub. ~Deborah
Oh, I am so sorry to hear you're not feeling well again. I sure hope you are able to get that prescription. Take care. Susan
I think your doctors are disgusting, pity you can't do any more about it, about time the government realised these situations, trouble is you are probably not the only one, what happened to the dedicated medical profession, now it seems the money is more important, hope you can get something sorted. Take care xx Julie xx
How frustrating! I thought that we were alone in our inability to keep decent medical assistance. So sorry you had to go through such a trial and tribulation!
