Crystal

I do not have a lot to write about today.  It has been very quiet here since Christmas Day.

The weather is rough, strong and very cold winds and the sky is so grey and miserable.  I think J-Land is still very subdued from the losses over the festive period.

I am glad that you all liked the picture of Nathan and Daniel.  Mike has enlarged it and it is now in a frame.  When the decorations come down it will be up on our wall.

Oh, I never did get to go to the moon although Nathan assures me that he went lol.

I did tell you that I received a couple of crystal flowers for presents and I am going to put a picture on for you.  It does not really do them justice because the photo was taken in daylight.  You should see them glitter under electric light and they certainly will when the sun shines on them - that is when we get any sun!  They will go on the top of our t.v. after the small Christmas tree on there has been removed.

They speak of the promise of Spring when everything is reborn fresh and new and Mother Nature dons her finery after the dark days of winter.

Anyway, I love them. So, without further ado, here is the photo

The newspapers are full of gloom and doom.  I think everyone will be glad when this particular year is over.

Well, that's about all for now.  I hope life is being kind to you all.

Love,

Lovely flowers.  I broke my beautiful glass flower my niece gave me somehow (I forget now), and I was so sad.  Yours are beautiful though!  Mine was blue!

Your flowers are quite beautiful.  I'd never seen anything like them before.  I do have a heart shaped crystal that hangs by one of my windows and sparkles in the sun.  It was a gift a few  years back from a good friend.  I know the atmosphere is gloomy, weatherwise and news wise...we do have to make our own sunshine now and then it seems.  Thankfully there is always a blessing somewhere in each day and I do try to look to those rather than the other.  I am really looking forward to a brand new year !  'On Ya' - ma

Holy Smoke!  They ARE pretty.  Crystal flowers would fall into the girl-girl category usually.  I'm more of a boy-girl, if you know what I mean.  I love to grow real ones (Sunflowers are my favorites --espeically the giant ones), but have never been able to stand silk or plastic flowers.  Why would one choose something so dead that it's never been alive to begin with over real LIFE is beyond me.  But these crystal flowers are really quite different altogether --glass being natural to start with really makes a difference here.  And they are really beyond pretty.  They are quite fabulous, aren't they?  I've never seen this kind of flower before!

I know I must sound like a nut.  Most things I can take either way but a couple of things I'm very nutty about.  For instance, no plastic in my kitchen.

My two favorite flowers...how beautiful !!   I have normally hated the long month of January....it seems to drag on forever.  But this year, I'm not working anymore, so I can liven January up a little if I want to.  And I've got lots of tasks I want to do here in the house, so maybe just maybe I'll get some of them done.  That is, if I can stay off the computer each day.  LOL    Linda in Washington state

I agree Jeanette, I always think the few days following Christmas always seem a bit dull and we seem to have had a lot of extra sadness.  Never mind 2008 is just round the corner.    Love  Sybil xx

Jeannette...They are beautiful and just what is needed with all the doom and gloom.......... am just watching about the poor young boy who was stabbed to death in Islington yesterday........ its such a sad sad waste of life, that compiled with the losses over the holiday period in JLand is very upsetting, my heartfelt condolences go out to all who has lost a loved one
