Bits n Pieces

Isn't it wonderful when somebody does something nice for you, completely out of the blue?  It is the little unexpected gestures and thoughts that mean so much and can brighten our day. So thank you, Angel, for what you sent me yesterday and for caring enough to do it:-

A truly lovely signature.  Thanks again my dear friend.

It reminded me of  the following:-

Thank You, God, for little things
that often come our way -
The things we take for granted
but don't mention when we pray -
The unexpected courtesy,
the thoughtful, kindly deed -
A hand reached out to help us
In the time of sudden need -
Oh make us more aware, dear God,
Of little daily graces
That come to us with "sweet surprise"
from never-dreamed of places.

                           ~ Helen Steiner Rice

Angel also came up with a question for me.  She asks:- What was the first song you and Mike danced to as husband and wife?

Ah, I remember it well.  We did not dance exactly, we were a bit cramped for space and the song is also very slow and not really suitable for dancing but we shuffled around gazing into each other's eyes.  It was the words that mattered to us.  The song was "You're My World" by Cilla Black.  We still love the song all these years later. For any of our American friends who do not know this song, here are the lyrics:-

You‘re my world, you‘re every breath I take
You‘re my world, you're every move I make
Other eyes see the stars up in the skies
But for me they shine within your eyes

As the trees reach for the sun above
So my arms reach out to you for love
With your hand resting in mine
I feel a power so divine

You‘re my world, you are my night and day
You‘re my world, you‘re every prayer I pray
If ourlove ceases to be
Then it‘s the end of my world for me

With your hand resting in mine
I feel a power so divine

You're my world, you are my night and day
You're my world, you're every prayer I pray
If our love ceases to be
Then it's the end of my world
End of my world
End of my world for me

After that we danced the night away, well I say danced, Mike has always had two left feet but he threw himself into it with wild abandon.  Mind you those were the days when we could dance for hours on end, those were the days when we were still young.  Those were the days when we could glitter

Today, on the rare occasions that we do dance, we have to sit down halfway through the first song! So, this is more like us these days

Well, my eyes are streaming, my nose is streaming and my head is thumping. I am going to try and visit a few journals later , will have to see how I am.  Have a good day everybody and a great weekend.
