Parnter Swapping

I love snowscenes.  No snow here today though. Instead we have sunshine, a bit hazy but nice and bright.  Looks like the weather is warming up again.

It would seem that Sandra and I have indulged in a bit of partner swapping!  It is quite funny.  A couple of people think that I am married to Jim which must mean that Sandra is married to Mike.  Exactly when this happened I am not sure.  I wonder if Jim approves of his new wife and Sandra approves of her new husband!  I do not think I would like to have to handle and cook all those fish that Jim catches and I do not think Sandra would put up with him indoors (Mike) snoring for long!

Well, I knew it would happen.  We were up bright and early awaiting delivery of the desk and there is still no sign of it. Had we decided to have a lie in you can bet on it that the delivery man would have been hammering on the door.

I have kept myself occupied though.  I had my anniversary present in advance as well.  Mike got me a labelling machine which plugs into the computer so I have been going through my address book and typing in all the addresses (never knew I had so many in there).  So, no more writing envelopes for me.  Just press a button and hey presto, a label comes out all nicely printed for me.  Typing in the addresses has taken some time but now it is done, it is done.

The Christmas lights are all in place outside ready for switch on in a couple of days.  We were going to start putting up the indoor decorations today but by the time the desk does arrive and we have moved the old computer and put everything as it should be, it will be too late to start.  Also, my back is quite painful today so perhaps it is better left until tomorrow.

No luck on my net curtains.  I had a letter saying "due to production problems" they were going to be delayed until the second week in December.  I have a strong feeling that I might not be getting them at all.  So that will mean no new curtains in time for Christmas because by the time I have waited until the second week of December and then if I find out they will not be coming, I shall have to place an order elsewhere and that is cutting it very close.  Well, maybe I am wrong and a miracle will happen and they will suddenly arrive.

I might well be receiving a mention in a magazine come February.  More of that another time when I find out for definite myself.  So, dear readers, you will have to be patient before you stampede out to buy a copy.

Have a good day everyone.

He he, I did that once, think I called Sandra's husband Mick - Jules's husbands name - by mistake!  Is it me that got the names wrong again?  I'm sorry if it was ;o)  It's just a slip of the tongue, like how I sometimes call hubby Jason, or Jason Gary!!  That is typical that you got up bright and early in case the delivery came, you're right, if you had slept in it would have come early, that's always the way isn't it!!  Well, I hope that it does arrive, and that it is everything that Mike wanted :o)  A mention in a magazine?  How exciting!!  You will have to let us all know so that we can buy a copy!!

Guess you remember the mistake I made in an email calling Mike Jim huh? Guess Sandra will know what I did after my comment LOL.
Hope your new computer desk will come today and hope your new curtain will get there in a few days. I haven't brought any of My Christmas things down from the storage building yet. I haven't felt like doing any lifting and Ken is still not supposed to lift anything heavy. The less I put out will be the less I will have to put back up LOL. Hope your back soon gets better, Helen

Morning Jeanette,
I hope your back pain eases off during the day, not nice!  I
We have also been waiting for the electricity to be turned off.  I note arrived on our doorstep last week saying the power supply would be interupted for 6 hours from 8.00am until 14.00.  So we all got up extra early, boiling kettles and filling thermos and still the power is on!!!!!!??????
Take care,
love Helen x

Hello Jeannette,
Like your snowy graphic, looks like Wisconsin...as it snowed all night. Partner swapping...LOL! Your right it is funny, just wonder what Mike and Jim think. I hope Mike's desk arrives today. Nice gift from Mike, and just in time too. You will have to let us know about the mention in the magazine, think that is super and well deserved. Keeping my fingers crossed for your curtains, and wishing they arrive before Christmas. Sorry to hear about your back, so try not to over do it...when the desk arrives. Hope you both enjoy your day.    ~Deborah

I want one of those labeling machines too, and how about a dock for my Kodak Easy Share camera that prints pictures while you at it Santa.  No really, that has to be the most wonderful invention.  Net curtins - you've got to take a picture and share when they come in, okay?  Hey, I still haven't figured out "Him inside."  You know, to see your snow scene I had to link to this entry, then it slowly appeared and I'm so glad I took the time to do that.  I've been having some pains in my back too but then I go down and get on the wiggle machine and it helps alot.

Mike and Jim would probably find the swap a bit of a surprise as well! Mind you, I gather it's a fairly established way of fund raising for charity these days - exchanging wives or husbands for a day! Hope your back improves - take care of it.

Aha!  This isn`t the first time that we have `swapped` partners Jeannette...this will definitely cause a stir throughout J-Land...lol!  You wouldn`t have to worry about cleaning the fish, Jim does it himself at the bottom of the garden.  I won`t let him get any closer with them...the smell is appalling! Jim can snore a bit too, but I think perhaps we`d better stay with our own loved ones for the time being, or until we are each credited with someone new...lol!  I want one of those machines...it would make life much easier for me with the arthritis.  You are right, you should have had a lie-in and the table would have arrived at the crack of dawn! :-)

Funny how the two hubby's got mixed up! it's hard to keep track of all the different people and their names! That's always 'the way', getting up extra early, for a delivery, only to find out they weren't coming in the first place. I'd like to get a new computer chair myself, the kind your getting is the most comfy too;your smart, getting the wrapping and decorations started early in the month, your 'on your toes', Jeanette! Have a great evening. ~Diane~
PS: thanx for the graphic info. http://journals.aol.com/dizarra/StorysFromtheCityTalesFromtheSea

I firmly believe that the earlier you get up is directly proportional to how late the delivery will be. Unless you opt to stay in bed, in which case, the delivery will be very early and you'll be forced to answer the door in your night wear with dishelved hair! I think they have spies!

Shame about your net curtains. It's frustrating isn't it?

Hope you like you're new husband (lol)!

I love a good snow scene.  We haven't had our first snow yet but hopefully it will arrive soon.  I never count on delivery men to be on time.  Never!
