The sun is shining brightly but it is very cold. I thought I would share some of our Christmas decorations with you today although the camera never really does justice to lights unless you are a professional with thousands of pounds worth of equipment.
This first one is on the outside of our bedroom window (our bedroom is at the front of the property)
All the tiny lights in the tree twinkle and flash and it is really very bright and pretty. The lights you can see behind the Christmas tree are actually in our bedroom, yes we do have lights in there are well, around the dressing table mirror and the angel hanging on the wall. Nice to lie in bed reading in the warm glow of Christmas lighting.
These lovely candles are on our dining room window which is also at the front of our home.
Here is the snowman on our porch roof, some of you will remember him from last year, he is a regular and has been for years.
Put them all together and add some rope lights and you get this effect from outside. Nathan wants to stay out there and stare at them all the time because the rope lights are chaser lights and constantly on the move, along with the flickering candles and the sparkling tree.
The rope lights do not go around the dining room window unfortunately but we think we have enough. For one thing we do not have enough sockets and even with extension leads it can be a nightmare sorting everything out and the glow from our home is already bright enough, we do not want to dazzle the neighbours too much. I must say we do attract carol singers like a magnet as we are about the only people at this end of the street to bother. Down the other end of the road nearly everyone decorates their houses.
Now for some inside pictures.
This was taken earlier this morning when I tried to capture the sunlight on the tinsel.
Here is our new fibre optic tree
It truly does not do it justice. It is much brighter than this and Nathan loves playing with the branches, they fascinate him. You can see our rope lights outside the back of our property and the illuminated reindeer in the back garden.
I just had to post this next one . With our patio doors you get double reflections as you look out through them and it seems we have many more lights than we do. It is beautiful to see in the evenings.
This next one was taken from our garden looking back towards the rear of the property
Finally, another Christmas tree we have in the lounge as our main one is in the sunlounge. I quite fancied trying these new LED lights and I must say I do like them. Not sure I would want masses on the outside of the property because they are very bright, but I do like the effect that this tree gives
A couple of years back, Mike and I had got to the stage where we did not want to bother much, just the two of us here and a lot of work involved, but now we have Nathan and Daniel it is all worthwhile and we want to make it as much a winter wonderland as we can for them. From the delight shown by Nathan, it has all been worthwhile.
I hope you have enjoyed this little peep into our Christmas world today and I hope you are all enjoying putting up your decorations as well.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

Wow they are fab and I can see why the boys are so in awe of them. We too have tried our best with twinkly lights and a huge christmas tree with so many different baubles and things on.
The pictures are fab and I especially like the tinsel around the fireplace and the new christmas tree in the lounge.
Have a lovely day
Much love Helen xoxoxo
They're lovely! I've got to the stage where I think Why bother, there's only Andy and I. I haven't put up any yet, may do later, my mum was a stickler for only dressing the tree on Christmas Eve, not a day before!! Dad would bring one home with him and we'd all set to the task of getting it ready for the next morning. Jeannette.
WOW. your home looks great Jeannette. I would love to see the big eyes of the boys. Hope you can get some pictures of them looking at all that. Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures with us. Have a great day! Helen

What a wonderful treat. We have a house about 4 miles from us, actuall it on the way to the shopping centers, that we have to go pass and every year he adds something else. So much SPIRIT here Jeannette. If I was over there where you are I would be driving by and at your home I would stop and take lots of pictures. Thanks you for sharing.

Hi Jeannette, I didn`t miss this entry at all but I remember why you didn`t get a comment. I was just starting to write what a great job you`ve both done and how lovely the decorations are, when my keyboard started playing up. I went and had my dinner meaning to come back and try again. I came back and forgot to comment....naughty me, consider my wrist well and truly slapped for the oversight...lolol! :oO

Your house, indoors as well as outside, looks lovely with all the decorations lit up. I especially love the reindeer in the garden. A real winter wonderland. I would love to have been a fly on the wall and seen the childrens faces when they first saw the lights! I absolutely adore the excitement created by children around this time and the look of wonder on their faces.
Wonderful! What a wonderland of lights. .the photos are beautiful. . .what memories you are creating for those two little Grandsons. . . . I would love to have seen Nathans face. . .you will have so much fun with them this year.
Sorry friend, I got behind on my reading...again! I love your decorations. Here it's just me and mom but I do it for me. I am like a kid at Christmas. I can't do as much anymore because this broken body won't let me but I pop pills and do all I can. And it is so worth it!
Those lights look lovely. Bet the boys love them!
I think houses that are lit up look so welcoming - there are quite a few where we live!
Jay.
What a lovely way you have decorated, it looks beautiful. I'm in that stage now that I just have not done any decorating - all the kids are l,200 miles away...I'll probably break down at the last moment and put the tree up....but I enjoyed seeing what you have done and I know the kiddies will love it. Sandi
I love the mantel with all of the glistening tinsel! Job well done! JAE
Oh, the pictures are lovely. I especially love the tree that gives off the blue glow, that is beautiful. Thanks for sharing, I can see why your grandson is so fascinated.
Merry Christmas!~
