I have had a very bad back the last few days and I am nursing it along in the hope that it will be better for Christmas.  I am so thankful now that I got everything done early because at least I do not have pressure on me as far as Christmas is concerned.  I am sorry that I have been unable to comment on your journals but it is so painful to sit here for any length of time.

Well, the net curtains are finally at the windows.  No, not the net curtains I ordered.  You would not believe the trouble I had with that firm, the telephone calls I made, the e-mails I sent, each one answered by a different person and all of them refusing to guarantee delivery by any specific date.  I kept being told there were "production" problems.  In the end I decided to surf the net to see if I could find any online supplier of net curtains.  I did indeed find one - and with a much bigger selection.  I telephoned them and asked if I put an order in whether they could possibly deliver by Christmas.  They assured me they certainly could.  So, I told the first company to stick their product where the sun does not shine.  I placed my order with the online company and got excellent service.  They even asked me if I wanted all the curtaining cut for each specific window and whether I needed any help working out the quantity needed. That was late last Saturday. The curtains arrived this morning and were hung in no time. Delivered in double-quick time and........costing much much less than the original company.  It always pays to check the internet first I have found.

So, apart from that not much happening in our household. I have been spending most of the time in bed, getting up from time to time to do what I can in order not to seize up altogether and using ice packs and heat.  The pain in my leg is easing somewhat but the back is still painful.

I hope to do a posting again on Friday but until then, I am sure you will understand why I am not commenting on your journals at the moment.  Why do these things happen when we least need them?

Still getting in lovely cards from my American journal friends, this time of the year you can really look forward to the post.

Until the next time, dear readers and friends, take care and try not to let shopping and preparing stress you out.

HI Jeannette,  I`m so sorry to hear that your back has been bad.  You must be really fed-up not being able to move as well as you like, let`s hope you feel much better soon.  Glad to hear that you`ve managed to get your new curtains, and at a better price.  We use the Net to shop a fair bit and have mostly been very satified with our purchases.  Well done for telling the original company what to do with their order...lol!  Take care dear friend. :o)

hugs

Sandra xxxx

Glad you got your curtains and at a much better price and service at that. Hope you soon feel better. I believe this cold weather is aggravating these backs. Hugs, Helen

It's a good thing you have everything done, just rest so you can enjoy Christmas.  I used to have a bad back and I know what it can be like.  Mysteriously, maybe Miraculously it went away when I got pregnant for my first son in '71.  It has never been a bother since then, but I am very careful about what I do too !  The doctors had said I'd be in a back brace or traction the rest of my life.  Well they don't know everything, that's for sure.  I'll be praying for you.  Take good care my friend!  'On Ya' - ma

Jeannette, I feel so bad your not feeling well, and there's not much you can do with a painful back but rest! Thank goodness your shopping is done tho-and you got your curtains right on time for Christmas! I'm always a little leery about ordering from the Internet, but I guess it's the same procedure as using a catalogue? I have to 'get with' the times! I was thinking about your fish, in the pond? Isn't it too cold for them to survive in the winter?
Or do you bring them indoors for a few months? The things I think about! lol Hey, I'm thinking out loud over here, please don't feel you have to reply! I'm sure you will be talking about them come spring; hope you feel better dear;~Diane~

I hope you are feeling better in time for Christmas. As for the internet shopping lesson, I wish I could convince my mother! She still doesn't see much use in these computer gizmos. ;-)

I have been feeling the same way Jeannette.    I get off of the moist heating pad and have enough relief to last a short while.     We know that we are not alone in our pain, as many others have similar or worse problems.    Glad that your net curtains were taken care of and the cost was less and service great.      Best wishes,     mark

Oh I hope your back clears up. I did something stupid yesterday and am suffering today with a bad lower back too. I've been making those denim pocketbooks out of old jeans and my sister & I went shopping yesterday at the resale shops I found a good bunch of the jeans.  I had two big bag fulls and stupid me, thought I could carry both with no problem...well, today I'm sorry I over did that. So believe me when I say I feel for you I really mean it....LOL...Sandi

I have not had time, for a few days, to write a journal but I will explain later.

I hope my note reaches you with an improvement to you health.
