So nice to see the sun today. We had a little snow on Friday night but not enough to cover the ground and it was gone in no time on Saturday morning. It remains very cold though.
I do not know what is going on with alerts, I am getting some but not many but I am continually being bombarded with aol alerts that give the first line and then something about a "wireless device". I wish they could get the problems sorted. The more they try to "improve" the system, the worse it seems to get.
I had a day off journals yesterday. I do need a break from time to time and when I have a day off I do not read journals either but I will be back catching up soon.
In the meantime, for those of you who are following the story, I have added another chapter and photographs to

I got a proper alert for this and also for Jans entry!! It's cold here but the snow didn't last, had a lot on friday but it was gone by yesterday thankfully! Jeannette.
Well ,you cant believe it can you ?I got an alert for this but not ,for Pips story ,Mine (touch wood )seems to be working OK ,maybe it was the cryptic comment I made !Yes of course you need time out sometimes ,..........Jan xx
Mornin! I got a 'good' alert for you today and for Jan. It seems to be with just the UK journals.. go figure. We get adds you get nonsense. I keep checking though. I've been pretty busy adding graphics to mine so I apologize for slacking on the reading side.

I have been getting some of those too. Linda
If AOL would only explain what they are doing it would not be so bad. The alert came through for this entry OK with me it just seems to be certain journals and it is always the same ones that affected. Love Joan.
Glad you have a little sun Jeannette, although cold it's a crisp morning here, very nice. Take care of yourself and rest with a good book. I wish AOL was back to normal. Rache xx
I have been having those same alerts Jeannette. Not sure what they are, spam or what? I know what you mean about the break aways...I recently felt the same. Hope you have a great Sunday...rain here and in the 50's. Many hugs and love,
Joyce
Good Morning ! Thanks for letting me know about the colors in my journal today - I did change them, if you'd like to go back and try again ! I'm sorry about that, just thought I'd try something new. That's what friends are for ! You are a good one. I'll be reading you newest entry in Pip's story. I hope your Sunday is a blessed one. I'm off to church and will be praying ! 'On Ya' - ma
I've been having the same problems with alerts also. So frustrating!
Missie
Hi Jeannette, Our heating bill will be huge this winter, this freezing weather has a lot to answer for! AOL is certainly doing some strage things, I`ve not been getting alerts from you, though I had one of those `wireless` alerts about Pip`s Story.. From what I gathered from Magic Smoke`s journal yesterday, there have BEEN problems but they are fixed now...yeh right!!! I`ll pop over to Pip`s Story now. :o)
Sandra xxxx
snow!!!!! wow we ain't had any up here in aberdeen LOL It's is cold though...Your journal is one of the ones that sends me those weird alerts...wish they'd get fixed soon Caff xxx
AOL is not up to par lately. I think you read my rant in my last entry. Still do not have the font functionality but at least I can download pics. I need to catch up with you by reading several back entries. Well, let me start that right now...
I totally understand the need for a break now and then. Life just gets to be too much.
I get one of those wireless device alerts each time you update your through a dog's eyes journal...
Have a blessed week!
Linda :)
I know what you mean with those alerts - I don't like those wireless device ones!! It's good to have a break from journals :-)
I dont know what is happening with alerts - I seem to get all mine but cant be quite sure if everyone knows when my journal is updated. Well I think I will just check everyone's now and then to see. Laine xxx
If I receive another "wirelesss device" I am going to blow it up. For god sake what is happening to our system? I will pack in journals if this continues, I can't take any more.

Today's alerts all worked, so hope the problem is fixed. Off to read your other journal. ~Deborah
I got your alert but am missing quite a few others. I've had some other gals that I chat back and forth with complain about the service being slow or not loading or not being able to access their journals...everytime Aol tweaks something, or ready to release something from beta this seems to happen. Aggrevating...Sandi
hello friend it is cold here too but not like alaska it was minus 51 there brr i will not complasin no more lol it is good to take a break once in a while things seem so over whelming sometimes i know but I so enjoy checking your journal I no longer get alerts since i switched to aol aim but do check my fav when i come on line have a good day GOD bless kelley
I am getting NO alerts...nothing. I am checking in with my favorites, but, it takes a day or two to get around to all of them. I hope it gets fixed, soon! JAE
The AOL alerts with the "wireless device" is some type of scam. I have never clicked the link on it and I recognize it because it always says "no subject" in the mail box and alerts never say that. I just click report as spam immediately. mark
Thanks for your 'Comment' hope AOL is sorted when I get back online.
My Journals in Sidebar now gone missing also.
I will catch up with Pip's Story later
Take care
AileenX
I am now getting most alerts again. Very cold here today......Love Jeanxx
I am still getting those wireless device alerts, weird eh. Hope you enjoyed the sunshine...............Jules xxx

Hi folks -- I don't have all the technical details, but for some UK users, the Alerts content is going to the wrong template (so it's not a spam, ad or scam).
In AOL Alerts, there are three delivery methods -- Online, E-Mail, and Wireless Device (a really short alert that goes to cell phones, pages, PDAs, etc).
For some reason, some AOL UK Journals Entry alerts are going to the wrong template -- they're going to the wireless template, which is only about 100 characters, which is why it looks so odd. It's also why it has that "Register wireless device" link.
It's an ongoing problem -- apparently it happens sometimes when the Alert content exceeds a certain length.
I will ask Susan to blog about it when we get more details -- also, please keep in mind, if you have any problems to report, please let me and Susan know, either by commenting in our blogs or sending e-mail -- you can vent and perform a useful service that helps your fellow Journalers at the same time.
Thanks -- Joe
It's good to have a break sometimes! I can't always keep up with reading everyone's diary anyway and sometimes, I don't keep up with writing mine! It's definitely very brisk out there at the moment.
