What a gloomy day it has been today. Skies the colour of battleships but at least it remained dry and the wind had dropped.
The saga of the car keys has finally finished. You will remember how Mike lost the house and car keys on Boxing Day (they never turned up). Changing the locks on the house was no problem but the car key was a different matter. We could not get the spare key to work at all. Mike took it back to the garage, they could not get it to work. Endless phone calls were made. We were getting nowhere. It turned out that the numbers for our car were incorrect ones. When Mike bought the car, they allocated him the wrong one of the batch and apologised at the time and even gave us a slightly upgraded car as compensation. The problem was that the key numbers that were in our handbook were the original car numbers and not for our car at all. So after three trips to the original car dealers, two trips to another outlet of the car dealers and several calls to the manufacturers, they eventually solved the problem today so all car keys are now working. They charged even more than the original quote and then, of course, there is the damned vat! Mike was not best pleased and said with all the trouble he had been put to, he should have got a reduction. They said that was not possible but they did give the car a free "health" check so we had to settle for that.
We looked after baby Daniel on Tuesday morning whilst Becky took Nathan swimming. Daniel is smiling all the time now and very very vocal, much more so than Nathan was at the same age. He is taking a great interest in everything and starting to try and sit up. It will not be long.
We have been told we will be getting Pip's ashes back on Monday, something I am not looking forward to because I know it will upset me again, but at least it puts a kind of closure on it. The house still seems very strange without him.
Apart from that it has been very quiet. We got hooked on Soapstar Superstar despite our best efforts not to. This is not the sort of t.v. we usually watch but were curious on day one just what soapstars would be on it and that was it, they had us, so we will be tuning in again tonight.
I have been feeling under the weather all day hence my late postings. Hope I am not going down with something.
Have a good evening everyone.
P.S. I have posted a new chapter under THROUGH A DOG'S EYES

Lovely to hear from you again Jeannette. You haven't had a very good time lately have you? Luckily you have your lovely family to keep you going, think of them when you feel 'down' and I'm sure your spirits will lift a little bit.
I've been wondering about the car keys, I take it they were never found, how strange, usually lost keys turn up when you've changed locks etc!
It hasn't been exactly gloomy here on the Kent/London borders but very frosgty this morning and then very sunny so we can't complain, especially when I didn't even have to leave the house today.
Hope things are good for you soon, thinking of you,
Pat
Ashes are never nice but like you say there will be some kind of closure.
I am glad the keys are now sorted.
I hope you feel better tomorrow
Much love Helen xoxoxox
I forgot to say Jeannette, I've got hooked on Superstars too and I NEVER watch Big Brother or anything like that. I'm kind of hoping that it'll be either Andy or Richard to win, what about you?!
Pat
I am sorry over all the hassle with the loss of the car keys...that was a lot to go through. Glad it is behind you now. Also, on the ashes...it will be a upsetting but you are stong and will get through it. We are ALL here for you...
I can't wait to see new photos of the kids...bet Daniel is getting so big now...smiles galore. Wow, swimming, how cool is that?
You have a great evening Jeannette...enjoy!
Hugs,
joyce
i am very sorry to hear about pip. i had to have my alvin put to sleep a month or two ago. o how hard that was. i am still grieving over him sometimes. nobody said nothing to us about getting his ashes. alvin had a sugar problem for a few years and we gave him isulin 2 times a day. that prolonged his life for a few more years. but finally the whole sugar trouble must have gotten the best of him even with the insulin. he was like my best friend. my youngest daugher was sooo worried about me being soooo lost if something happened to alvin so a month or two before we had to put alvin to sleep she bought me a puppy. a fox terrier. we named him pokey. i love him very much also. debbie
I re-did my alert request for your entry's and I am now getting them again so I can catch up with your entries....I did read Pips story and I found it very moving and it moved me to tears, a lovely tribute to a much loved doggy.
Hi Jeannette, I have to say that I`ve avoided Soapstar Superstore but have managed a few sneaky peeks at Celebrity Big brother..something I vowed never to do, it`s becoming compulsary viewing and it`s starting to worry me...lol! How lovely for you to have had Daniel for the morning. This has to be the nicest age for babies so far, they are doing so much now aren`t they? Roman has started holding out his arms to me and squealing with delight. I just love it when he does that, it makes me fill up with joy! He is also very good at sitting up now and it won`t be long before he`s doing it completely unaided. I`m so pleased that Mike finally has his keys working but that it cost him a fortune for the pleasure. He should have had a reduction as it wasn`t his fault the wrong numbers were written down. A free health check...bah! Take care and I hope you feel much better after a good nights sleep. :o)
hugs

I guess at least they gave you something for all the hassles with wrong code for the car keys...My best friends youngest is doing stuff quicker than her brother did but then she has someone to learn from and catch up with :o) Think that usually happens although it didn't with mine but was reason for that...Love the graphic of the rose and butterfly...gloomy here too wish weather would cheer up a bit Caff xxx
Sorry you're not too well Jeannette ((( Take care ))) Rache xx
It's pretty gloomy over here, too. I know it makes it even harder to not feel so sad about your good friend, Pip. I hope you get sunny days, soon...JAE
lovely graphic your butterfly is very cheery on a day when the sky is... lovely description... battlship grey, may be it would have been almost as cheap to change the car ,all that problem with the keys ,imagine Daniel trying to sit up ,how lovely for Becky being able to take Nathan swimming whilst you get to have Daniel to your self ............got alert for both your entrys today ,thanks for your e mail with love Jan xx
Beautiful butterfly! :o) I hope you do feel better Jeannette. Take care, and I love the idea of having a site for Pip. God bless you.

I felt sure the House/car keys would turn up once you had changed the locks...what a problem you had with the car key, but am glad it is now sorted...
Daniel sounds very happy smiling all the time, and how lovely Becky takes Nathan swimming - such a good and healthy sport....I know you will upset on Monday when you have Pips ashes back...wish there was something I could say to make it better....but you know how I feel for you....Take care.....Ally
Beautiful graphics Jeannette, hope you soon get to feeling better. Glad you got some keys for you car. Off to read another chapter on Pip. Helen
Glad you managed to get the car keys sorted out . Wonder where all the keys went. Hope you are not catching something and you are maybe just suffering with the dark weather. Love Joan.
What a hassle those keys gave you and the hubby! Glad you finally had it taken care of; love Pip's page, it's so hard losing a beloved pet, I dread what I will be
going through real soon, for I have a 15 yr old beagle mix, Nikki, and the time
is coming......~Diane~
I was hoping to hear that you found the original keys... too bad. I love the graphic by the way. It will be hard for you to go collect Pip's ashes. I've been on the other end of the desk when working at vet hospital, animal shelter etc... Its heart-wrenching to see the owners come for their beloved pets ashes. I've been watching a corny show on tv here, Dancing with the stars. Its professional ballroom dancers paired up with celebrities that can't dance and they are taught too and perform live etc... Pretty interesting. Linda
I hope you're not going down with something too. Thought it a bit of a cheek at the garage to charge you more for something that wasn't your fault. Glad you enjoyed looking after Daniel. Jeannette. http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels
What a frustrating key ordeal...You realize of course the original keys will turn up when you least expect it. That's the way it always works. Stay well...Linda
Busy days you're having, take care and hope you're feeling better. I'm off to read the next post on Pip. 'On Ya' - ma
Glad that you finally got the key problem finished. mark
I can't bear all this grey weather, so let's hope that we get a bit of sunshine soon! I don't mind that it's cold so much, if only it wasn't so dark! My car keys have turned up now. Do you think all the car keys decided to take a holday and some couldn't be bothered to come back???

Pleased to hear the saga of the car keys is resolved. Been having nothing but hassle for the past weeks myself, hopefully we are both "out of the woods". Take care my friend.

Hope your feeling ok :-) Love the graphic of the butterfly. Glad the car keys are sorted but what a palavour to sort them out and I have to agree with Mike you should have had a reduction.
Glad the keys are finally worked out!
Love your graphic, the rose and looks like a glittery brooch.Glad you got the keys sorted out but not that it cost so much.I bet you loved having Daniel while Becky and Nathan went swimming..........Jeanx
Oh I hope that you're not coming down with something too.
I hope that Daniels smiles brought you some comfort the other morning Jeannette, you do sound low. Have a ((((( ))))) m'dear. Thinking of you.
