Me? - I Think Not

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I was playing around on Photobucket the other night and discovered you can make an Avatar representing yourself.  So I thought I would have a go.  Well, they do not do "old" and they do not do "fat" which made it harder to make a cyber me - so I had to go with what they had.  I picked out a nice top, similar to ones that I wear and then discovered you had to pay for it.  So that was immediately discarded.  They do not do hair as short as I wear mine either or exactly the right colour.  I did manage to find a ginger cat that looked quite good until I added it.  Now it looks more like a stuffed hedgehog!  I really wish I did have a figure like this.  Anyway, this is the best I could come up with. So, me? I think not,  but a bit of fun to put on this journal.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Strange day today, started very hot and sunny and we were told it was going to be the hottest day this year so far but the blue sky has now gone and it is overcast although still on the warm side.

I feel drained today.  Had a double dose of radio yesterday afternoon at 2.45p.m. and another double dose at 9 a.m. this morning so well less than twenty four hours apart.  But the double shots are done with now, they were the only doubles I had to have.  I just carry on being zapped now on the actual site where the cancer was.  They tell you to get lots of rest and sleep if you can.  Sleep does not cure this sort of weariness but it does help somewhat.

The redness has now spread right up to my neck.  I queried it and was told it was quite natural and not to worry, no damage would occur to these parts of my body but that I am not allowed to get any sun on it for at least six months.  Going to be so difficult then going into the garden especially when I am planting up my tubs.  I am going to have to find a large sunshade.  Becky and Dean came across some great ones, perfect for me and at a reasonable price - until they checked the price of the bases needed to hold them.  Astronomical! But they will keep looking.

Even after the six months, I can never venture into the sun again without wearing Factor 30 or above sunscreen on the parts that are red now.  Radiotherapy leaves your skin ultra-sensitive for the rest of your life.  Oh dear, no more bikini tops - yes I do wear bikini tops or rather I did.  Going to miss that.

We have one white Iris in our pond so Mike went and took a picture.  I love the colours in it and also like to see the drops of water on it.

Well, I do not have much else to write about.  Every day is the same at the moment.   Oh yes, Leo certainly thinks he is a "big boy" now.  He leaves his own dinner and goes to eat out of one of the dog's bowls.  Well, he knows that there is more in them lol.

Jesse and Jack have really taken to him.  They allow him to paw their faces and we often catch them snuggled up together.  Mind you, as soon as they see us looking, they get up and walk away.  They do not want to be seen actually associating with this small ginger being.  Comical.

Hope you are all having a good week.  Sorry I still cannot comment on your journals, it is just too much to take on at the moment but it will not be too long, hopefully, before I can get back to them.

Love

Good morning Jeannette, yes, I did get your allert this morning.Your animated girl and kitty is so cute. I am glad that the strong doses of radio is finished. I hope you soon get some strength back. The sun is just about too dangerous for any of us to be out in nowdays and I can see why you don't need to be out in it at all. I hope Becky and Dean can soon find what you want so you can be outside some.  That is so cute about Jack and Jesse snuggling up to Leo when you are not looking. He has grown quite a bit. I love that picture of your iris. Hoping your day improves as it moves along. Hugs, Helen

An idea to hold the sunshade:  Find a large, tall bucket (They sell them at the DIY stores here for only a few dollars, not attractive, but they are cheap.  I believe they are actually large paint buckets ... you could paint it to make it more attractive.) and fill with sand.  Your sunshade should stand securely in the sand, and it's portable!  I hope your energy starts to return soon.  Keeping you in my prayers.

Take Care,
~Bilinda~

Lovely to hear from you again and great to know that all the "doubles" are out of the way now.  You are sounding upbeat and looking very svelte in your avatar hehehe.  It must be awful feeling so tired all the time, but this will pass.  Take care  Eileenx

Hi Janette.  How clever you are doing that avitar its so funny.  Glad the double doses are over with for you and thats another thing behind you.  You are bound to be so tired after all that radiothearapy.  Its just taking one day at a time go with the flow you are doing so very well Jeanette, I know you will battle through. The white Iris is beautiful, what a lovely picture.  Lovely Leo continues to makes us laugh what a blessing he is, so glad he get on with Jessie and Jake. Bye for now Kathie.

The iris is gorgeous...I have no idea if the blue ones i planted are some of the bulbs that are growing in my tubs or not LOL...Mum told me to label the tubs but i said naaaa, wish i had now as there's a lot not come through...You can get factor 30, 40, 50 and even 60 suntan cream in the shops easily now...My mums comes out in a rach with the sun and has always had to wear at least factor 30 and she still gets a tan...It was hard to get years ago but so much easier now...Glad to hear that your double doses have finished now and it's just the single ones from now on...Do take it easy and it doesn't matter you're not reading our journals...I did get an alert for this entry but last week when i posted pics of some of my handmade cards some got an alert and some didn't...So presume they are wonky again for some people...Take care {{{{{hugs}}}}}  Caff xxxxxx

Beautiful iris.  I only had one bloom this year but I see a whole "herd" of them out at the entrance to the mobile park where I live.  Being fair skinned & blond I have always have to wear at least 40 suncreen.  Both of my kids have dark hair but my fair skin, so skin screen has always been a fact of life for us.  Hopefully you can find some cute straw hats and long sleeve but cool blouses to wear when you're out in your garden.  However, even with long sleeve blouses...don't forget the sunscreen.  I have burned right thru my blouse.  That Leo is growing..he looks so much bigger, must be the extra nibbles at the dogs bowl.   Linda in Washington state

the avatar is really good, which site did you use to make it? Leo is coming on really well. Talking of really well, you are doing so brilliantly with your treatment. I know it is hard for you but you are getting through it one step at a time. I am so proud of your courage and determination.............Jules xxxxx

That avatar is cute. You need some rest, getting double doses. It does take alot out of you. When I did radiation, the whole right side of my face was red and my neck and chest too. I looked like I fell asleep in the sun. Forget about buying an umbrella base. Get a 6ft piece of PCV tubing, 2" in diameter. Get hubby to cut one end into an angle, and stick that end in ground giving it a few wacks with the hammer to make it sturdy then stick umbrella handle in top end. You will save so much money this way. We do this at the beach during the summer. And Leo is just too cute, nibbling on the dogs food. I love Leo's marking on his back. He sure is a beautiful kitty. ((((((((hugs))))))))
Love ya,
Cindy

Good to hear you're bearing up well through the radio-therapy, Jeannette. In other words, you'll have to be well covered through summer. And winter, for that matter. Small price to pay :-)

Understandable, you need your rest...we aren't going anywhere...and we are here for you always...
I loved the Avatar...so cute...love the kitty...it does favor Leo.  And speaking of Leo...wow, he has grown.  How lovely the flower photo is...thanks for updating...you get that REST...many hugs and lots of love,

Oh, that was cute...just consider it your inner self...I've always thought of myself as thinner inside too..lol.  Remember those large hats the ladies used to wear in the 20's? They had sheer material that acted like a sun block over the hat and it shield the persons neck and sides of the face. I wonder if something like that may help you? I know how much you love the outdoor garden area. Rest and be well...Sandi

Cool Avatar!  I think that looks quite like you!  You have to wear SPF 30?  John has to wear SPF 50.  You can get it here in the US in a store called CVS.  Do you have any CVSs there?  You may want to check it out.  It is called Coppertone.

Hello Jeannette,

I`m really behind with journal reading and I`ve just read your last few entries. I love the photos of your flowers and especially the one of your beautiful roses, they are absolutely gorgeous. I have a red climbing rose but I only planted it about 6 weeks ago so I`ll have a long wait before it looks as nice as yours.  I`m not at all surprised that the dogs have taken to Leo, it must be so nice to have a feline friend on their lives again, it won`t be long before he`s totally in charge of Jesse and Jack if I know anything about cats...lol!  I don`t blame you for stopping the painkillers if they`re causing you so much discomfort, I hope there is another one the doctors can prescribe that won`t upset your stomach as much. Still praying for you my dear friend. :o)

Love Sandra xxxx

Hi Jeannette, well you are slowly and surely going through the treatment, well done.  I love the picture with the lady and her hat and all the little fairy-type people.  The colours are so striking, I wish I had the imagination and talent to paint like that.  The avatar is cute ... had to giggle about the cat looking like a hedgehog!  By the way, I saw some cheap bases in Tesco, where they seem to be selling lots of garden equipment.  Take good care of yourself.  Hugs, Terry x

The cat in the avatar does look a bit off it lol, the price of sunshades is qite silly sometimes. I hope you find something suitable to plant your pots, I've not forgotton about the Aloe, it's just not look too happy at the moment.

I never did care for those type of avatars, they are so unrealistic. Love the picture of the Iris. Hope you can find something for shade soon dear one as I know you love being in your garden. How about having an oversized umbrella? Leo is growing to be quite the little darling. (Hugs) Indigo

That's a cute avatar you did, Jeannette; quite tricky.  I'm glad your double session are over with.  I shouldn't be in the sun much either as I've had patches of skin cancer removed.  Hope you find a shade for you garden.

LOL...Leo is so adorable...just like having a baby in the house.  Love xx Chris
