We were woken by a tremendous thunder storm this morning and we have had a couple of heavy downpours since then. It remains fairly humid.
O.K. There were a couple of eagle-eyed readers who commented under my previous entry. They wanted to know what was in the bags in our sunlounge. They had spotted them from the photo. Honestly, you do not miss anything do you? Now I wonder what YOU thought was in them. So to answer those two people..........................................in the bags are....................................... newspapers! Yes, as boring as that. The council collects our newspapers once every two weeks, so we save them up. Obviously we do not want them decorating the rest of our house so we put them out of sight, or we thought we had. Forgot they would show on a photo.
The council bag provided is never big enough but him indoors puts what he can in that and takes the rest to the large council bin for newspapers which is not far from us. There, now you know lol!
Him indoors thought the vanilla was a good idea to put into the paint. However, he had already changed into his painting clothes and commenced before I told him of all your advice. He said he would get some later. Needless to say he never did - men! Anyway I have got used to the smell of paint now and hardly notice it but it is a handy tip to remember for next time. Thanks to all who suggested it.
I am going to be quite busy for the next couple of days, not only have I got to put all the books back on the shelves but there are two chests of drawers in the bedroom and I have decided I want them painted to match. That gives me an excuse to empty them out, go through everything and be ruthless in throwing things away. My energy levels are still quite low so I will take my time.
Also the new curtains have to be taken up by about six inches. I knew that when I ordered them but I wanted that particular set so it was worth it.
As there is not much else to say I thought I would give you some Sunday smiles. Hope that you enjoy them.
No, this next one is not him indoors, although it could be. He is great at mowing the lawn but I dare not let him near a flower bed, he does not know a rose from an artichoke and he positively hates weeding. He does get grumpy now and again if I ask him to do anything out in the garden. Not bad-tempered just grumpy so maybe this is him after all!
I will leave you with a couple more.
Lastly, I think we can all relate to this one..................
Hope your weekend is going well and wishing you a good week ahead.
Love,
P.S. Today is St. Swithin's Day, my late Grandfather's birthday. They say if it rains on St. Swithin's Day it will rain for forty days thereafter .......let us hope not!

Hi Jeanette will you did cheer me up to-day with your cartoons. I think this weather is getting us all down and we are all turning to clearing out for something to keep ourselves busy. Please don't overdo things though its surprising just how much hard work it is at our age. Take care Kathie.
Aah, the crocodile one made me a bit sad Jeannette! It was funny though.
Good luck with the chests of drawers, I have some that need to be 'gone through' but that's a job for when I'm in the mood to do it, which isn't very often! I love ironing but absolutely HATE putting it away, I leave Peter's on the bed for him to put away when I could quite easily do it myself! He has never complained about it though, just gets on and does it, bless him! We didn't have the storm but just half an hour of rain, the sun is out now (sshhh) and Peter's doing some work in the garden before we go out for our family meal. Enjoy your week. Love, Pat http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/

I do think you've had enough rain for sure, so I do pray the sunshine comes out for you today. I thank you for all the ***BIG SMILES*** you've shared this morning with us. Now I'm off to church with a SMILE and a prayer ! 'On Ya' - ma
Oh, those cartoons were great. Thanks Jeannette! We have a big rolling bin for recycling, I just dump all the old newspapers in there, along with any, washed out cans, cardboard, washed out plastic milk & juice jugs, etc. The local trash collection company picks that up every other week. We also have a yard waste bin, for grass clippins, branches & weeds. They also pick that up every other week. Happy Sunday afternoon...praying for the sun to shine on England today!
Linda in sunny Washington state
I have been busy recycling here too. We take some up to Tescos where I get green points! Our thunderstorm has just arrived so I'm in from the garden and back to the ironing board. Hope the rest of your day is nice. Hugs, Terry x
