Hello dear readers, glad you enjoyed my hair raising story yesterday! Some have asked have I got pictures? No, who would want a picture of their hair broken off and discoloured lol. There were pictures taken a couple of months later in Spain but I have put them on my journal previously and they are black and white so do not show the unusual colour and it had also grown by then.
Today is St. George's Day (the patron saint of England) although we do not have a national holiday to celebrate it. No St. Paddy's Day type celebrations for us. Happy St. George's Day England!
Well, what a difference in the weather. Yesterday I was basking in the sunshine and my skin is still glowing from it and I already have a slight tan. I was careful because I had no sun cream in the house. I actually sent Mike out to buy some so you can blame me for tempting fate because today we have:-
It was wonderful to be outside. I actually went out to do some gardening but instead I ended up sitting in a chair just relaxing and drinking in the warmth of the sun and the song of the birds. Spring has suddenly sprung. From nothing a couple of days ago, trees in our garden are in blossom. Here is our plum tree
And this is our Amalanchier
The leaves on this tree are copper coloured when they first appear and look stunning against the white blossom.
We did take some of the covers off the pond and tidy up the pond plants. The rest of the time I watched a beautiful bluetit going in and out of a nest box, so we will have baby birds soon.
I have the t.v. on whilst typing this and am watching and listening to the London Marathon. I so admire all those that take part for all the different charities, they range through all age groups and how some of them manage to finish the course in the fancy costumes they wear I do not know. Many are running in memory of those they loved and lost. Good luck to them all.
Last night I enjoyed watching Dr. Who. I must say I like David Tennant in the role. It is more tongue-in-cheek than it used to be but am I alone in thinking that last night's episode would have been particularly scary to children? They must be amongst the biggest fans and I know it would have frightened the life out of me seeing something like that werewolf when I was a youngster. Then I watched "An Audience With Coronation Street" and enjoyed that as well. Not so much the questions which seemed very staged but all the musical numbers. It is amazing how many of them have good voices.
As you can see I am waffling because I really do not have a lot to talk about. Have not seen the family this weekend and it has been very quiet so I think I will disappear and have a nice
I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday.

Hiya, great minds think alike cos I have just taken a pic of my plum tree and judging by your pic, it is about the same stage....blossom wise! Did you see the dalek on the marathon a short while ago, and the llama, lol!
Glad you trees are blooming and they are very pretty. I have never see an Amalanchier tree before and you can see the copper colored leaves. Very pretty. Watch out for the big bird as we call them when your fish pond is uncovered. Have a good rest of the day. Hugs, Helen
Happy St Georges Day too. . . . .I too watched the London Marathon. Its glorious sunshine here today, maybe we will have the rain from down South tomorrow
The sun is shinning brightly here today ! Wish I could send some 'sunshine' your way ! Lovely that you got a chance to 'bask' yesterday - this was a working in the kitchen weekend for me....but it looks heavenly outside ! 'On Ya' - ma
Happy St.Georges day Jeannette. The garden is looking wonderful. Yesterday was the first time I think a lot took to sitting and just listening and enjoying everything that will be blossoming soon. Rache
Nice bright day up here in the Western Isles - we didn't want to begrudge you a bit of spring rain. We locked the gale in the cupboard, not fair on the Marathon runners.
Happy St Georges Day.Glad you enjoyed your time in the garden soaking up the lovely sunshine .Back to normal today with the rain.......Jeanx
Happy St Georges day Jeannette ~ Love your pictures the trees are far ahead of ours the blosson is just starting to open ~ we were promised rain today so put all the gardening tools away and we havn't as yet had a drop ~ I've often wondered why we don't celebrate St George's day after all he is the Patron Saint of England ~ glad you enjoyed your day in the sun yesterday and got a slight tan ~ Ally
Your yard sounds lovely Jeannette. I did get the front part of my yard mowed yesterday. So will think about mowing the back later this afternoon. The birds are so delightful, chirping and fliting around. I've got some extra sun screen here...do you want me to bring some over to you? Linda in sunny western Washington
Your garden seems to be far on now and looks beautiful love the trees. I thought Dr Who was very scary last night it seem to have become more of an adult program than a childrens program. Love Joan.
Happy St.Georges Day Jeanette. I popped into my friends local and it was full of flags and staff all dressed up and Morris dancers were coming at 5pm it was so nice to see it being celebrated properly with delicous looking Roast Beef and yorkshires being served too. The pub was packed so good to see a lot of patriots about even though I was only there 10mins. I too enjoyed the glorious day yesterday and so sad to see the drizzle today. Ron did get both lawns mowed yesterday the first cut since we got home. I am not seeing the "children" this weekend either. I look fwd to seeing them all and keiki Thursday. Rest well friend and God Bless. Jennie xxxx
Happy St Georges Day to you :o)

Missie
Hi Jeannette,
Happy St Georges Day to you too. There should be some kind of celebrations here, we are English after all so why not celebrate our Patron Saint. So now I know why it`s been raining all day, you sent Mike out for suncream...lolol! I love the blossom on your trees, which was what I`d hoped for this year. Instead I got two dead trees! I like David Tennent as Dr Who and I hoped to watch the video of last nights episode this morning, but Jim had taped over it. I forgave him though as he`s taping it tonight for me. :o)

Your Trees are MAGNIFICENT! We live in a new development so haven't had the chance to landscape yet. I simply cannot wait for my garden though my DH insists on installing all the interlock first (grr). I'm hoping to get a lilac bush out front and a lilac tree out back.
Enjoy your cuppa ;)
Was low until i read urs. take care. t xx
HELLO JEANNETTE.
I DO ENJOY READING YOUR JOURNAL. IT AMAZES ME THAT SOMEONE WHO IS HOUSE BOUND CAN FIND SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT. I WENT OUT TO LUNCH ON FRIDAY WITH FRIENDS THEN ON TO MY DAUGHTER'S HOUSE FOR HER TO CUT MY HAIR. IT'S REALLY A NO. 3 WITH THE HAIR CLIPPERS. I HAVE NOT BEEN OUT SINCE.
WHEN PEOPLE DO NOT LEAVE LINKS TO THEIR JOURNALS ONLY THEIR PROFILES HOW CAN I OPEN THEIR JOURNAL?
I WOULD LOVE TO VISIT THE PEOPLE THAT COMMENT ON MY PAGES BUT CAN'T.
DAN
Glad spring finally showed up, your trees are pretty. They used to show Dr. Who on late Sat nites here, but they stopped and I had gotten addicted to them..love the opening music too. Daleks are coming...Sandi
Happy St. George's Day to you! Last night I watched "Pretty Woman" on regular TV with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. I thought it was a well made and interesting movie. I joined Columbia House DVD club and have fullfilled my obligation for getting the first one's for under a dollar each. It averaged about $10 a movie and I have all I care for and have to cancel each month the one they would automatically send me if I didn't. I will just rent them in the future. Mark
Sounds like a relaxing Sunday even though the weather didn't cooperate. I hope the rest of your week is peaceful as well.
Barb
I thought Dr Who on sat would scare my 2 but it didn't...They are both avid fans, especially M, which pleases me as means i get to watch it...M even watched repeat on BBC3 last nite LOL...I think david tennant is going to be more like cheeky, slightly eccentric doctor that patric troughton and tom baker were :o) ANd is very easy on the eye <gg> The pics of your trees are beautiful Caff xxx
the trees look very pretty indeed and at least your making the most of the good weather ;-) I admire the london marathon runners - how they get round that course is unbelieveable!! Didn't watch Dr Who so I can't comment on that!!
Doing catch up Jeannette, sorry I fell behind. I am sorry the weather was bad this day...of your entry. We had it bad here too that day. Loved the photos of the trees..so pretty...and I bet the pond is just beautiful....can't wait to see all the photos you will take of the pond. Have a wonderful week...will catch up with rest of your journal..hugs and love always,
