Swings And Roundabouts

Bring me sunshine!  Another overcast and chilly day here today and now we read in the paper that the weather is predicted to stay like this for another month. The temperatures are going to struggle to reach the mid fifties and summer, when it does, arrive is not going to amount to much.  That gives us all something to look forward to doesn't it?  Looks like my sun cream will remain on the shelf.  I cannot help but wonder why the weather is so very unseasonable  this year.  We read and hear about global warming all the time but this seems to be going the other way.  Often when there have been disasters like the Tsunami and the Asian earthquake it does change the world weather so maybe that is the answer.

We had Nathan this morning whilst Daniel went swimming. Not that I saw much of him because Mike decided to take him to the local playground.  It turned out they were the only ones there which is a shame because Nathan loves playing with other children. It was probably due to the chilly weather but Nathan enjoyed himself apart from the slide and the seesaw which he does not like at the moment.

In this second picture he looks so much like I did at that age and I can also see a lot of my Father in him.

Close by the playground which is situated in one corner of the field, Mike snapped these bushes in bloom.  How pretty they look

When they came back from the playground, Nathan made straight for the slate and chalks we bought him last week.  He remembered exactly where they were and I spent a fun twenty minutes with him drawing pictures.  He likes me to draw for him and then he rubs out the sketches with a little sponge and laughs his head off.  It must seem like magic to him watching things disappear like that and then see me put them back on again.

Becky was unable to stay on her return, not even for a cup of tea as she had to take Daniel to the clinic for his eight month check up.  It is so hard to believe he is eight months already.  So we never got to see him at all as he was strapped into the car.  However, on Friday we are having Daniel whilst Nathan goes swimming so we are looking forward to that.  Both boys love the water and it is so important to teach children to swim at the earliest possible age.

No sign of my plants arriving yet.  Probably just as well, because it is a little chilly and damp to work out in the garden.  We had thick mist last night and again this morning and now a wind is getting up.

Well, time now to go and get something sorted out for lunch. Hoping you all have a pleasant and peaceful day.

Well Jeannette that entry did not cheer me up at all this morning with what you were saying about the weather I had not heard that as I have not seen the news or read the morning papar yet. Stuart and I are coming down to Norfolk a week on Saturday for our Summer holiday but from what you were saying it does not sound very promising never mind they don't always get it right do they? Lovely pictures of Nathan he looks like he was having fun with Mike. Hope the sun comes out in your neck of the woods. Love Joan.

We get a few sunny warm days and then cold rainy ones.  That is very typical for us.  Usually , we don't have really nice weather til June.  At least it's not freezing or snowing.  I'm thankful for that...winter seems to last longer every year.  You are so fortunate to have the grandchildren as often as you do, I don't get to see mine except for special holidays or events. Enjoy your day !

Those pictures are really good. I am glad that Mike takes pictures while he is out and about for you to enjoy when he gets them back home. The weather has been beautiful here but as you know in this part of the world the spring warm temps and sunshine brings on the storms and tornadoes. It's supposed to be stormy here this afternoon. Hope you have a great evening. Helen

You're having some real quality time with the boys lately Jeannette, they're loving it.  I was always frightened of the swings but I fancy that roundabout thing.  Nathan looks like he enjoyed it too.  Hope your plants come soon now that the weather is almost thinking 'hey lets stay warm today' :)  Have a good week. Hi Jeanntte,   It`s really cold and overcast here too.  As it`s meant to be Summer I`m not at all impressed by it.  What a shame Nathan didn`t have any other kiddies in the park to play with, like you said it must be the weather.  He is a lovely looking lad and I can see that he resembles you quite a bit.  I agree abou little ones learning to swim at an early age.  Roman used to go but had to stop because of his eczema.  Kerry is taking him to a Dermatologist on Thursday so hopefully he can tell her whether he can start going again. :o)

What a fun looking playground.  It's so neat to see the little ones have so much fun on a simple little playground toy.  Our weather is supposed to be changing too.  The high 60's and even 70 degrees will soon be gone.  And I put all the stuff away and cleaned up around my wood stove this time of the year.  I may have to get it all out again as I hate to run the furnace.   Linda...sick in Washington

I really enjoyed this entry!  Nathan is a very handsome little man!!  He does look like you, too!!!  I miss doing those things like going to the playground, drawing, etc....My son is now 14 and sometimes I wish we could go back in time for just a little while.  I love every age,  but there's something magical when they are little.  Can't wait to see pictures of Daniel!!

Your Pictures are lovely. Yes it is important for children to learn to swim. I go swimming every morning 9am till 10 adults only. And then mothers and babies come in some of them are only weeks old but to see them in the water is beautiful. All the best

Nathan looks like he's having fun, bless him. It's misty, dark and gloomy here in Brighton too. Thanks for letting us know it's not going to heat up for at least a month, that's really cheered me up!! Can't believe Daniel is eight months old already! Jeannette.

LOVE the graphic!  What a squishious little guy!  Gorgeous bushes, what are they?  Too sweet about the chalk...my mother-in-law used to sit with my son and do that.  I found them together one day, sucking on the chalk...strange, I know...but he was a toddler...and she'd do anything he told her to...pure maniacal devotion.  LOL ;)  C.  http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies
