Sunny Tuesday

Isn't it typical?  Now the Bank Holiday is over and people have gone back to work, we have a lovely sunny day although there is a stiff breeze.   Not only that but they forecast a mini heatwave for midweek - well at least here in the South East.

Becky has kindly sent me some photos which she says I can use on my journal.  Pictures of some of her Spring flowers.  I must say that her display of Daffodils in the front garden was wonderful:-

Here is her Cherry tree which is blossoming at the moment. She tells me she has been sitting by it just this morning. They do get wonderful cherries if the birds do not get to them first!  They will have to put a net over as they usually do.

Next is her Magnolia tree.  It is only small at the moment but is going to look stunning in a few years judging by the colour and size of the blooms now

Next we have Tulips and Irises.  Irises are a particular favourite of mine. We do have them in the pond but not in the actual garden.

Lastly, here is our Nathan.  Despite all the work going on around him, he was determined to have fun!

Thanks Becky my darling for allowing me to use these photographs so that myself and others could share the beauty.

As you know I do not tend to mention my health too much on my journal. Well, as little as possible.  However, I am extremely depressed and worried at the moment.  The side effects of the increased medication does, thankfully, seem to be  wearing off but they have not, so far, reduced my blood sugars back down to acceptable levels.  Maybe it is just too soon, I really do not know.  I do know that I only have a couple of days left before my appointment and because I have not seen the real improvement I had hoped for and which the diabetic nurse told me over the telephone that she is certainly expecting to see, my stress levels are rising.  Right now I have to admit that I feel as if I am fighting a losing battle and that is very unusual for me. I have shed more tears in the last three days than I have done in a very long time.  However, I do believe in a greater power and I hope the Lord is kind to me.

To think that not long ago I was writing telling you I was dreading the appointment in case the nurse made a big issue of my weight.  Now the weight has become a minor worry, it is the sugars that are the main concern. I have cut back on my food even more and  been sticking strictly to my diet and been trying to increase the exercise.  That is why I am so very concerned that my sugars are not falling back the way they should.

I know you will all be wishing me well and rooting for me. You are such a wonderful group of people. When I started my journal I never realised just how many friends I would make and I do mean friends.  I truly care about you all and so much enjoy sharing in your lives.

If I do not post anything more for a couple of days I know you will understand why.

Wishing each and every one of you a happy and trouble free week.

Good morning Jeannette, I pray that you soon will get to feeling better. If I am not mistaken I think stress runs the blood sugars up. I hope things will settle down for you soon and that your sugar levels drop. Those flowers of Becky's are so pretty and I see that beautiful smile on Nathan's face again. Thanks to you and Becky for sharing them. Hope your day gets better. Hugs and love, Helen

I bet the stress of trying to get your sugars down is making them rise.  I wish I had some great advice to lend, but other than "try not to worry" (And that's impossible, I know!) I don't have much to offer.  Do you take any supplements to help lower the blood sugars?  I take loads of vitamins geared towards keeping blood sugars down, also a grapefruit a day is said to be helpful. (As long as you aren't taking cholesterol reducing meds)  Good luck, I hope all that is needed is a medicine adjustment!  I'll be thinking of you

love your pics. I have this one iris tha tis light purple and has the most sweet fragrant smell dont know why its different than myother iris. I need a flower that blooms in the shade and notso good soil. cnat seem to find one.
sorry to hea rboaut your sugars. I have a few friends who tried for years and gave up and started doing herbs adn they did not cut down on sugars so much as what kind. Like they use organic sugars whole cane sugars and changed the sugars they used they got whole foods and that seemed to be what worked. It was not how much sugars but what kinds and what kind of food they were using wtih it.

Hi Jeannette,

I`m so sorry to hear that you`ve been feeling so bad of late. I`ll pray for you and send you our very best wishes and hope that all goes well on Friday.  Thanks for sharing the lovely photos from Becky`s garden.  The Magnolia is called `Susan` and I have one that I planted last year. Jeanette love its a viscious circle, my step daughter is diabetic and stress makes her sugar levels high, she was first diagnosed at the age of 11, its really best not to worry about numbers and concentrate on how you are feeling in yourself, you know your own body, trust your instincts and stop worrying!

No one likes to fill their journal full of their health problems. I don't mind it but if you do, remember, there is a place where it is the norm. Just for you. All are welcome.

I enjoyed the pictues, Spring is just beautiful - Thank the good Lord for all His blessings!  Sometimes shedding tears is a way of releasing some stress.  Try not to worry, worry causes more problems than we could ever imagine.  Trust in our Lord.  Let your worries rest in His Hands.  I know it's not easy, but it works.  He says Come to me all that are weary and heavy burdened and I will give your rest!  And He does.  Take good care my friend.  'On Ya' - ma

Jeannette, was glad that Sugar sent me, your journal page. We can try to loose weight together. I'm on the boarder of diabetes because of my weight. Dr. says I got to loose. Have lost some but got about 150 to go. So, we can encourage each other. Take care, and thanks again for dropping by. Talk to ya, later, your journaling friend, Liz

My first chance to visit your journal after your kind comments in my own - and to find such a range of beauty and emotion in a single entry tells me that I will be back often.

Life tests us daily - sometimes in ways we least expect - but the soul and the spirit are resilient, and especially when supported by the outpouring of strength so evident in your friendships. Know that I will also keep you in my prayers.

I enjoyed the photos from Becky a lot.    I have a "Bing Cherry Tree" that is over 30 feet tall and the birds always get them.    My small "Pie Cherry" that is not the sweet cherries like the Bing would have to have a net over it if I did not want the birds to get them.    So, the birds always get the cherries.    The Daffodils are wonderful and the Magnolia tree is fantastic with the purple flowers.  The combination of the Tulips and Irises are great color producers.     We can only do what we can do about our health, and leave the rest to our belief in God.    It is difficult to talk about one's health problems because of the pain involved.     You have many J-land people concerned for you and you have shown your great concern to me.     I think the Christmas Card you sent me was something special and I think you are wonderful for doing so.    I have not had a good day and last night my arthritis keep me up most of the night.    I do not like having to take a nap during the day but it became impossible to continue my reading.    I hope the next several days will give you some rest and lessen your worries.     I am wishing you the best,    mark
