Saturday - Problems Still Not Sorted
A bright sunny day for a change. Well, once again I have had to add this entry using Firefox. I am not happy about it. It makes everything so much more complicated and I am not sure that it is secure. I shall not be adding further entries unless and until they get the missing buttons sorted. If they never sort it then maybe my Jottings will have come to the end of the road.
I remember those days when journalling used to be a pleasure and not a hassle. You could upload what you wanted to File Manager, go to your journal, add the pictures, write what you wanted to say and then press Save. That was it. Now File Manager no longer works and has not done so properly since last November. If I want to add an entry now I have to upload photos and graphics to Photobucket or similar and instead of being able to copy and paste the pictures/graphics, I have to mess around with HTML codes. Then I have to open my journal through Firefox (what am I paying AOL for????????) and do an entry that way. Of course, you cannot add links from favourite places as you can when doing the journal the normal way, through AOL.
Anyway, like I said, it is now a hassle that takes a lot longer than it should and does not make for a happy experience.
I received a couple of super photos two days ago. He is so lovely as I am sure you will agree
This is Harry my late friend's Grandson at the age of fourteen weeks. You will remember that she died suddenly just after Christmas. She never got to see his lovely smile. I can see her in him and know that she would be so proud and also pleased I had put his pictures on my journal for you all to see. What a lovely little boy he is.
The hole in our road was finally filled in this morning. So glad of that. We got fed up with the school children taking down the safety barrier and also throwing the hazard notices into the pool of water that filled the hole. We hope they do not have to dig it up again for a long time.
Spring is definitely in the air now. A couple of trees are in flower near us although none of our trees show any signs of that as yet.
It is nice to see the blossom and the days are getting longer, it will be great when we are able to have the doors and windows open.
Well, it has taken me well over an hour to do this entry, far too long. Like I said at the present it is not a pleasure anymore, it is a hassle. A journal is something you are supposed to enjoy not something you want to tear your hair out over.
I shall not post again until the journals buttons are sorted out, if ever. I get the feeling that AOL are not too bothered about it because it is not affecting everyone only some. For the moment I will give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they will get it fixed. I would urge you all again, if you are having troubles with your journal, especially the Add Entry and the Edit journal buttons, please go to my previous entry and copy and paste the red link and leave a comment under the others. I think that is the only way anything is going to get done. I hated to leave that as a typed link and not a hyperlink because you cannot do hyperlinks through Firefox.
Anyway, before I do tear my hair out I will wish you all a very happy weekend. I am off to have a nice hot cup of tea. After more than an hour of this, I certainly need it.

Hi Jeannette I'm sorry you're still having so many problems with your journal. You can copy and paste straight from Photobucket, I had to learn it myself as there were no instructions on site! All you do is left click the graphic you want, brings it up on new page then you left click it again and it comes up on another page then just right click, copy and paste into an email. Right click the Remove hyperlink and paste it on to your journal. That's always supposing they allow you to do an entry! I couldn't be bothered with HTML codes either! Harry's gorgeous, it's so sad that his grandmother never got to see him grow up into such a sweet baby. Have a good weekend! Jeannette xx http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/
Aw Jennett, when your alert came up I thought whoopee! it's all ok again. I have registered my complaint, but nothing has been resolved, or indeed, had an explanation. I haven't made an entry for ages, but suddenly found the time and also wanted to show photos of my Spring bulbs in unusual containers. It was a lovely day here yesterday, it was so nice to wander around the garden seeing all the crocuses & daffs in flower and the hyacynths pushing their way through. My seeds in the greenhouse are sprouting too.
I don't know anything about firefox and your experience of posting has put me off from trying! But glad you took the time, I do miss getting alerts and reading all the journals :-(
Lovely pics Jeannette, thanks for sharing :-D

With so many people complaining about our journals you would have thought that AOHELL would have found out what is causing all the trouble, I wonder how long they would take to sort things if we refused to stop paying them until things were running smooth again, I hope this isnt the last entry that you make, I look forward to reading your journal, as you know yours was the first one that I read, and its all thanks to you intrducing me to J~Land that I started one of my own.
Lovely photos of Harry, his grandma would be so proud of him, thanks for sharing them with us.
take care my friend until next time Lynne xx

Hi Jeannette,
Very sorry to hear your problems are still not over. Firefox is actually SAFER than internet explorer, which is full of security holes. About 75 at last count. Nonetheless, AOL seem to care less and less about service, do they. If you use AOL to get on the Net, then that's the only thing it's good for by the sound of it.
Thanks for sharing the family pics :-)
Jeannette I am so sorry you are still having so many problems ~ I think we have all had quite a lot just lately ~ The pictures are lovely as you say his Grandma would be so proud of him ~ those trees full of blossom makes you feel like Spring really is on it's way ~ it is still quite cold here in Norfolk and plenty of rain ~ Ally
Hello Jeannette,
I`m so sorry to hear that you still have problems posting entries, surely this should have been fixed by now as so many others are having similar problems. It would be such a pity if you finished your journal because of AOL and its seeming inability to sort out this problem, I for one would be disappointed that you had to leave. Harry is a darling little boy and the name suits him perfectly, how his grandmother would have been proud and he would have loved her so much, it`s so very sad that he will never know her. So they filled in the hole at last...better late than never I suppose.
Love Sandra xxxx
Hi Jeannette, sorry to hear you're still having problems with AOL. It doesn't seem to be happening over here in the U.S. It must be some glitch in the U.K. I don't want you to leave tho....that would be terrible. Harry is a precious baby, he's got a special angel in heaven looking down on him...his grandma. Hopefully the AOL problems will go away soon. Linda in Washington state
Lovely to see an entry from you again ,though yes can I understand your reason for not doing a posting , for all the reasons you have given ,it is very frustrating ,and as you say takes so long ,baby Harry is lovely wouldnt his Grandmother have been proud ,thanks for showing us the pictures ,,love Jan xx
I am so sorry you are having trouble with AOL. I have always used photobucket but I don't mess with the html codes at all. If you right click you can select copy and paste the photos into your journal. Also you can upload several at one time if you select Add More Photos when uploading to photobucket. I have never used file manager so I don't know if it is easier or not but this way you might be able to use photobucket faster. If you get a line around your pictures from photobucket just backspace one time to the line and it disappears. Hope this helps. I have had trouble with my backgrounds though for over a year and am so disappointed I can't get them to work in my journal. They worked for the first year. I am convinced someone hijacked my button. The babies look lovely and adorable and the spring pictures are lovely. Hugs,
Lisa

Actually Firefox is a lot safer than IE. It is all I ever use. It doesn't crash as often plus there are some great themes and extensions for it. Tammy
Handsome young prince, what a jolly lil guy! He made me smile, lol. Loved the spring pictures. It is a warm, and windy march day here. Can't wait for Spring!
I do understand your fusteration dear one. I would hate to not hear from you though. I myself have to discover a different way to be able to get animated images into my journal. (If ever) I'm sad to report it appears as though AOL has no intentions of fixing the Hometown button. It is permanently gone from all our journals. Sigh!! So I'm off to discover what I may to continue to enhance my journal. By the way Harry is the sweetest little guy!! (Hugs) Indigo
what a cutie pie baby glad your back on again
Such a shame she didn't get to see Harrys smile, hope they sort the buttons soon
Love the pics. *hugs*
Jeanette, the photos of your friend's grandson are lovely and he has a beautiful smile. I hope she can see him from heaven. Such a shame she never got to see him on earth. I have found a way to get into my journal and will be emailing you separately. Hugs.

Pics are wonderful. TY for sharing. :)
AOL...GRRRRR what else can I say.
Huggies,

Hi Jeannette. I'm sorry you are having so many problems with your AOL. I would hate to see you go. I've enjoyed reading about you and your family. And your ghost stories have had me on the edge of my seat many times!
I do hope you don't leave, but if you do, just know that I really enjoyed getting to know you.
Take care, Pam
Hello Jeannette,
How are you ? I have to say that I have not had any problems adding entries that is not yet. I hope that Jottings will NOT NOT NOT have to come to the end of the road. You are loved very much here at J-Land. You are the very 1st one to welcome me aboard. It would be a huge loss to lose you and Jottings. It is such a pleasure to hear from you even when you might be having problems with adding a new entry. You made me feel like a part of the family at J-Land when I was new here. I do hope that you stick around for a long long time.
I have to say that Harry is a very cute little baby boy I would love to meet him in person. This is one happy baby. Its again its gotten cool here in my neck of the woods but its okay. I am home with my family so its alright. We survived the bad weather we had recently. I love the pictures of the trees in your neck of the woods they are beautiful. Do take care my dear friend.
Yours, Monae
Hi,
My buttons are OK but if I try to add pictures it crashes me off the Internet, its just rubbish isn't it?
Linda x.
The baby pictures are so adorable!! Thanks for sharing.
Missie
I am so sorry you are having such an aggrivating time trying to connect with us! Bless your heart. I only had my journal come up a couple of times without buttons. Each time I just refreshed the page and there they were. I never could figure out how to use file manager. LOL Suppose it's all in what we get used to.
Your friends grandson is a doll!!!! I'm betting she kissed him on his way down to us. ;o) - Barbara
I do hope you get the AOL buttons problem fixed soon. From what I've read lately the problem seems to be in only parts of the UK at present. My buttons have been fine for a few weeks now...the problem just seemed to go away. Gremlins in the computers I suppose. The baby pictures were a treat to behold. Such a happy little one. 'On Ya' - ma
its amazing that a simple thing takes ages to get sorted out, with al the profit they make as well!Beckie.ps please dont give up hope, i love to read your journal!
Hi Jeannette thank you for showing and sharing the lovely pictures of Harry ,hes so lovely its very sad that Christine isn't here to see how hes growing.Sorry AOL is gving you so many problems......Love Jeanx
Well Jeannette this week seems to have presented lots of people with differant problems right across J/Land.I do agree with you on all you say.Especially the paying of AOL when you are not getting the service.I myself had probs, but happy to say they did come right themselves in the end.I just sat tearing my hair out for a couple of days.I was told by Joe it was my AOL software,But everything is great just now touch wood,in fact much better faster and no probs whatsoever, so I am happy I didn't re-install as suggested. The baby is beautiful and what a shame your friend never saw that heart winning smile of her little Grandson.Yes Spring is on it's way and the blossom trees are a picture when they are in bloom.I hope your problems do come right in the end for you.I have heard Firefox can cause problems with other things and other programs on the pooter,I do not know if this is correct though? It is only waht I have heard. So Take Care God Bless.

I've been having problems with AOL for a year now. They did not do anything about it so I cancelled my subscription. I am using it now for free so the hassle do not cause me aggravation anymore. I'll be here when you update.
such a lovely child..........and yes, she sees him........just from another point of view that ours.
i love the shots of the flowers around the house. the weather is so crazy here that the flowers are not sure what to do................sigh.
have a blessed day.
