This And That

Photobucket

I would again like to thank Jude for choosing my journal in her Guest Editor's Picks on Magic Smoke.  This was the first time I had ever been chosen and it is a nice feeling.

The poll is doing well, quite a lot of votes.  It is still open and probably will be until Monday morning, so you still have plenty of time to cast your vote if you have not already done so. (See previous entry)

It seems that Autumn is setting in really fast here.  A couple of nights ago we had a storm that lasted for four hours. I have never seen lightning like it and the rain was torrential.  The following day we had another storm. Today it is very windy, cold and overcast and this is still summer or supposed to be!

The family were over yesterday and we had lots of fun as always. Less than a month now until Nathan starts school.  Oh, how I will miss him. I have been so used to having him here a couple of times a week.  Now it will only be some weekends and holidays.

I do not really have a lot to write about today as it has all been very quiet here.  I do have a couple more photos of cactus flowers to share with you.

This first little one has a flower stem and bloom bigger than itself!

With the onset of the overcast weather and the temperatures dropping so much I think that will be the last of them flowering for this year unless we get a late heatwave.

I need to get some housework done, then I think I will get comfy and start reading my new book.

Wishing you all a happy weekend.

And remember, do not miss out on the fun and have a laugh by visiting -  Make 'Em Laugh!

Here I am Jeannette!  I clicked on the map, but not sure what I was expecting,  it said 0 visitors, so maybe it didn't recognise that I was there :-/
Love your cacti - what beautiful flowers they produce.

I hate to think of summer ending, but we have signs that it is here too.  A little cooler than usual for August yet it is nice. 4 or 5 times this week we were threatened with storms, but they blew to the east of us and we need rain. Flowers do make us both SMILE it seems !  Enjoy your book.  'On Ya' - ma
