We Must Remember

Photobucket

On Monday France lost 10 servicemen in Afghanistan with 22 more injured.

We must remember that it is not just UK and USA servicemen over there.  Many other countries also have troops fighting in rough conditions against the Taliban.

Behind every serviceman, of whatever nationality, waits a family and friends, worrying, watching the news, looking forward to a joyous homecoming and dreading receiving bad news.

The loss of a loved one is a devastating thing but to have young  husbands, sons/daughters die in a "war" makes it worse.  We have seen many scenes of burials, distraught families and lives left altered forever.

My thoughts go to the families and friends of those Frenchmen who have lain down their lives.  May they rest in peace and may their families find what comfort they can.

My thoughts are also with the family of another British soldier who was killed yesterday.

Thank you for reminding us this morning that while we sit in our comfortable homes many brave men and women are fighting for our freedom and that of many others too.  We must not forget.  I too salute these brave people and pray daily for them and their families.  'On Ya' - ma

Seems every week we hear more about losses there! May those that have died R.I.P., those injured have a good recovery (physical & mental). And prayers for those families that are suffering too.
Bless them all, from all the many countries.

There will be ones who suffer from injuries the rest of their lives not to mention the mental problems they will have to deal with.  It truly hurts to think of all the ones lost and will continue to be lost.           Have a good day, Jeanette.............alice

So sad for all the French families, as I have been for others.  Only my view but this is an unwinnable war and sadly more lives will be lost in the future.  I just hope that the French Government treats these bereaved families and any of their injured soldiers better than the British Government seem to treat ours.  Eileen x

Its sad, sad, sad.  But unlike you, we don't see scenes of burials.  As per George Bush, we are not allowed to view caskets coming home or services at cemetaries.  Out of sight, out of mind.  And that is one of the reasons I think this country is so complacent  about this war.  And that is #1 on my list of problems with Bush.

Any time I hear of a soldier passing, my heart goes out to all the family loved ones....why oh why can't our world be one of caring, loving and peace with each other...bless all service people and their families.  Arlene (AJ)

Man's inhumanity towards man continues since the dawn of time. Too many people have died in the last few years and not in the name of freedom. I worry for my friends sons who are in the army that they will survive to live out their lives and not die in a useless war. That area of the world has been in upheaval in one way or another for centuries on end, why do we think that we can "fix" them? It all breaks down to corporate greed in the end. I couldn't justify my kids dying for that.  Then to come home and not get the right care when you are wounded...I hope my Country wakes up and votes these idiots out...we need a change....be well, love Sandi
