Wintry Sunday

Yes, today is more like November than June.  The skies have been black all day, a strong wind blowing and so cold.  It is hard to believe it is Summer and they are predicting a heatwave through July and August.

I had an eventful day yesterday.  Firstly my computer decided to go wrong again as for some reason it suddenly stopped recognizing the modem so we had to uninstall AOL and re-install it yet again.  By the time I got back online I had passed the 20,000 hits mark and I  have no idea who got me there.  In between times I was looking after Nathan and later in the day I learned from Sylvia Jottings from the Sticks  that I had won her "competition" and she sent me ten most beautiful pictures to use as Screensavers.  Thank you so much, Sylvia. As I pointed out on her posting, I only got the answer because I am old enough to remember!!!!!  Sylvia has a great sense of humour and I loved her explanation of pill boxes lol!  I am so glad that Sylvia has decided to keep up her journal after all.  She has serious health issues at the moment plus other worries that I will not go into.  So pop over and give her some support. She has a good journal, posts lovely pictures and is a very very nice lady.

Nathan has the middle initial of D and I know what it stands for - Duracell!!! The boy never slows down and Mike and I have yet to find the "off" switch.  Despite crawling around for hours, pushing his walker around, going out with Grandy, spending time on his swing, he had no intention of an afternoon nap.  He polished off a large lunch of organic vegetables and wholemeal pasta followed by a chocolate mousse. During the afternoon he had two bottles of milk.  It slowed him not one bit.  That is until Becky arrived and told him it was time to go home. In an instance he shut his eyes and was asleep!  He obviously does not want to miss a minute of being here. He adores music.  I put on radio AOL and was tuned to the Show Tunes station.  When the bouncy songs came on he danced from side to side, waved his arms, beat time to the music with his hands and tried to sing along.  Maybe we are going to have a musical star in the family.  Well, to us, he is already a little star.

So, all in all quite an eventful day it turned out to be.  Today I have just taken it easy, been reading and playing a few games.

Until the next time.........

You must be exhausted after such a busy day!  Though obviously every moment spent with Nathan is a total joy. I can`t wait to be run ragged with my own  grandbaby. As for our weather...bleh!  I took Jake out at 4pm and it was cold and dark. I couldn`t wait to get home. I`m sure we never used to have such miserable summers as we do nowadays. Congrats on winning Sylvia`s competition !   Enjoy your restful day :-)

Well, the 20,000th visitor wasn't me, it was already well past that when I turned up!!  Congrats to you, and congrats on winning Sylvia's competition.
Small boys have sooo much energy!!  I'm sure you enjoyed every moment, but were probably worn out yourselves by the time Becky came to take Nathan Duracell home ;o)

Hi Hon, Just love your photos of your familiy. This one is so cute. I'm no anywhere close to our youngest grandchild, who is 13 months old now, and miss being able to cuddle him. They grow so fast. By the time we see him again it will be hard to recognize the little guy he was.
Congrats on passing the 20,000 mark. You deserve it. Your journal is great.

Not cold here !  It's been close to 90 degrees all week.  We are supposed to cool down after Wednesday this week.  Back to our Normal mid 70's.  I'm glad your computer problems were righted.  I know how I miss mine when it isn't working.  I feel cut off from the world.  It's great to spend a quiet day !  It's been one here too !  'On Ya'  - ma

The photo of your husband and grandson is really nice.  Also the area where you live looks very inviting and comfortable.  Thank you for you comment in my journal.  The trees are actually on solid ground where it is possible to walk around the rock formations.  Ferne Clyfee State Park is located about 30 miles east of my home.
