The rain has been teeming down here and a strong wind is ripping the leaves from the trees just when the Autumn colour was really getting going. The weather is supposed to get even worse as the week progresses. What a shame when all the children are on half-term holiday from school.
So, what has been happening in our household? Well, Joan of Stranny Dayze recently posted a picture of her illuminated keyboard and I thought it would be a good idea to get one myself. It can be very annoying for him indoors trying to watch the television whilst I put the light on peering at the keyboard. So, yesterday he went off to get me one.
It looked quite swish, all silver and shiny and I was impatient to give it a try. Alas, the moment we plugged it in, the numeric pad light up like Las Vegas and then promptly went out, leaving just the letter keys lit. We tried everything. No use. We telephoned the supplier to be told - no, that is not right, it should not do that, it must be faulty. Him indoors was not best pleased that he had to drive quite some distance to take it back. Before he boxed it up I decided to at least try it and I am glad that I did because it simply was not for me anyway. Quite a few of the keys were in different places, it had a lot less function keys and I found it incredibly tinny and noisier than my current Logitech keyboard. Because of the fault it had to go back but I had decided that I did not want a replacement, I will stick with the one I have.
He also got me a laser mouse, the first cordless mouse I have ever had and I am struggling with it at the moment, it seems to have a life of its own! I have been so used to old faithful, but I will get the hang of it eventually I am sure and wonder what I ever did without it.
I watched a documentary programme on t.v. last night about The Amytiville Horror. Arguments are still being raged over it. George Lutz still says that everythingthat happened tohim and his family was true although the film makers did exaggerate in the original film, the neighbours argue that the whole thing was a fabrication to make money, various psychics came on and showed grainy photographs and were adamant that the house is haunted, sceptics argued otherwise. Apparently, they have just filmed the story again and this time George Lutz is suing them as he does not like what they have done with the story. The current owners say that nothing has ever happened to them and they feel no air of evil about the place. So, who knows!
Here are the latest pictures of Nathan and Daniel. Daniel first - he seems to be really laughing in this one:-

Those little boys are delicious ,they remind me I had two boys, with twenty months between them ,I then went on to have two girls, happy days ,hard work but young and happy !! Its a lovely sunny day here ,SO FAR !!! Jan xx
Your boy`s are absolute darlings Jeannette, you just want to pick them up and cuddle them! I will be replacing my old logitech keyboatd for another of the same. I don`t want mine lighting up like las Vegas....lol! I read the book of The Amityville Horror many years ago and it terrified me, but as you say, who knows, only those who were there! I`m all ready for the vote now. :-)

It's sunny here now but blustery. Looks like somebody told Daniel a really good joke!! Shame about the keyboard not working properly or living up to its expectations. Can't beat the old trusty ones can you?! Jeannette.
Morning Jeannette - don't the boys look lovely ....and what a smile that is...The weather is pretty miserable here at the moment rainy windy Grey skies...Ally
Love the fall leaves, and always enjoy pictures of your Grandson's. Will have to vote tonight, but hope all my favorites win. ;-) ttfn ~Deborah
I tried a cordless mouse and just didn't like it, the boys are real cuties. Will be voting later :)
Sorry you did not like your new keyboard but you get very used to the one you use day and daily. Your grandchildren are coming on a treat and the wee one seems to be a cheery wee soul. The weather up here is a lot better and the sun has just come out hope it lasts. Love Joan.
How sweet the pictures are. It looks like Nathan is slimming up a little. Is he? I love the tree colors. We don't have any like that yet but I am waiting to see if we do. Yes I saw the lighted keyboard and wondered how it would work. I have a mouse like yours except it is not cordless and I wouldn't have any other. I don't like those with the balls in them, they are forever having to be replaced. Thanks for commenting in my journal. Hugs, Helen
A very dark cold day here. Rain is steaming down the window as I look out right now... One of those day to make our own sunshine ! Your grand 'babes' are adorable and growing so fast ! Have a blessed day ! 'On Ya' - ma
I can't believe you watched Amytiville Horror. I heard it was so frightening.
The boys look delightful!

Am so glad my 2 lads are back at school after 2 weeks of oct hols (tattie holidays)...Mind you the weather hasn't been that great for last 3 weeks :o( In Au Naturale i saw a light to use with computer...It's like a strip light kinda and is a foot long...It would give off a soft glow enough to use with keyboard although not quite so long...Basically it's like a long stick and wasn't expensive...I got a balless mouse but still one with a cord and it's the best mouse i've ever had...Kids don't keep breaking the ball bit :o) I'll go vote this time as i found nominating too confusing Caff xx
Rain here too Jeannette. When I said we needed the rain, I meant a day or two, not 3 to 4 days...LOL. The wind is blowing hard also. Wow, a keyboard that lights up like Las Vegas, now that is something! I love the photos of Daniel, who is growing and has such a beautiful smile and also Nathan, who looks like a little angel. Both are adorable. Got to go and vote soon...this will be fun...take care and bunches of hugs!

I had one of those keyboards and it did not work properly either, we took it back and got our money back. The cordless mouse we had also had a mind of its own and took that back too! We will stick with wired ones LOL. The pics of the boys are lovely, they grow up so fast don't they!

Wish I'd known about that tv programme. As for keyboards, I've just been telling Sandra, the most worn keys on my mine are M E N D. Reckon mine can talk. Keep laughing.

Lovely pics of Nathan and Daniel :o)
I've only had my keyboard for just over a year, and already some of the letters are disapearing, lol! I will stick with it for now though. I have a cordless mouse, which is sooo much better than the one I had before. I hope you get used to yours soon :o) I really wanted to watch that Amytiville program last night, but hubby was watching a film. Hopefully it will be on again sometime.

Great game thanks for sharing that with us :-) Lovely photos of the boys!! I'm intrigued by the lighting up keyboard, I'm not sure if I could change my mouse like you have.
I understood that it was pretty well proven that the whole Amityville horror thing was a hoax. Of course, there really are only two possibilities: overactive imagination, or hoax, as nobody has ever presented even a shred of documented evidence supporting the existence of ghosts. I am visiting for the first time while I decide who to vote for in these Vivi award things.

P.S. I see your UK journals suffer from the same problem as our Canadian ones: the need to scroll waayyyy down to read the archived entries.
