I think so many of us are getting troubles with aol now that I am tired of mentioning it. I will say though that I am having problems with journals loading slowly, as of yesterday I was not getting comment alerts and only very few posting alerts. I even get white boxes with red crosses when I access my e-mail or when the odd alert does come in and, needless to say, file manager is still not working.
Him indoors began putting the outside decorations up yesterday. He was not able to start until quite late because we had Nathan here. So, he still has one to put up at the front of the house and then a set of stars in the back garden. That will get done today. We always have them ready to switch on the 1st December.
Nathan managed to turn the oven on when he was here yesterday. After they left and Mike was out, I was in the bedroom writing Christmas cards and smelled something strange. Good job I checked. Mike had put the grill pan in the oven and instead of putting the handles that belong to it in the drawer had left them on top. The smell was the plastic starting to melt. I caught them before any real damage was done. Oh, Nathan also managed to turn the washing machine on as well. The gate will have to go back at the door when they visit in future. I did surprise Nathan with a little plastic wind-up t.v. with scenes from "Bob The Builder". He loved it. You can imagine how it pulled at my heart when he looked at me with those big blue eyes and said "Thank you Nanny". Bless him, I almost shed a tear of love.
Why, the title of this entry? Well, last week I brought you "talking cats" so today I thought I would give the canines a chance. Found this little video for you, it made me smile
Tomorrow should be the day we get the decorations out of the loft (the inside ones) and start putting them up. Whether I will be able to do so remains to be seen. I have had such pain between my shoulder blades and in my neck and left shoulder this last few days. I have been resting as much as I can but it is very slow in going and is making me feel very down. With Christmas approaching I cannot afford to be like this. So, I am hoping it does start to get better and fast. I was due to have my blood tests re-taken. First, I got the flu bug that lasted (until it went completely) for three weeks and I only had a couple of days before this started. I cannot make the appointment until this stops. Please send some good thoughts my way.
I hope life is being kind to you all.

I asked the Teen once to put the casserole in the oven to be cooked for us coming in..she turned the oven on and thought she had put the casserole in ..but...she had cooked the frying pan instead as we store it in the oven too, the SMELL was horrendous, I could smell yours from here lol!
Sending you positive thoughts to get well, take care.

I hope the day goes well for you and that you start feeling better soon ! I know we all need to feel our best this busy holiday season. I think I'm going to take an extra vitamin now and then and see if that helps. I'm so bogged down with the lack of daylight anyway that it seems I tire out much more easier than ever. that is not a good thing ! Take good care ! 'On Ya' - ma
Hope you improve soon, Jeannette.
i have to tell you, i LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE that video of the dogs...LOVED LOVED LOVED it. Thank you so much for showing it to us. I sent it to my mom, she'll crack up. So cute.
AOL sucks, on MANY levels.
Ugh. XO lj
Thank good ness you discovered the reason for the smell ! bless our clever Grandchildren with their inquisative minds ,Hope you soon feel better ,wish we were more settled with the journals not knowing what to do for the best takes out the heart of you doesnt it ..love Jan xx
I hope the pains improve. I've been suffering for months with upper back, shoulder and rib pain. Since my sister gave me an Indian Head massage I've realised I can now stand for an hour without being in agony. The pain has certainly lessened.
Another two weeks before I can see my GP for the results of my bone density scan. I got the appointment through for the scan quicker than I am going to get the results after it! My GP is in for a right ear bending when I see him. It's just not good enough that It's taken six weeks after the scan when they were posted to the surgery on the day I had it done.

Loved the video! Very cute and so funny! I am glad you have a good sniffer and caught the handles before they were ruined! I guess you'll have to check all the appliances after Nathan leaves from now on, even if you put the gates up...just in case! I had a similar bug and it lasted 3 weeks and six days! Miserable! Get your tests done!!! Jae
I'm waiting another week or so to start with my Christmas Tags, Lord knows I have sooo many. LOL
AOL is GRRRRR lately!
I have that doggie video in my Archives, I always thought it was so cute. :)
Hugs, Sugar

Jeannette I hope you pain goes away soon.
You do have to watch the little ones, they do move real fast.

Oh kids can be so quick at what they do, you dont even realize that they did it. Glad you caught the oven before things really melted. The dogs are so cute. Hope that you feel better soon....Sandi
Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well.
It's a good thing you caught that plastic before any major damage was done, or you could've had quite a problem on your hands!
25 days til Christmas? Oh my... I haven't even begun shopping yet. We took down all of our fall decorations but have yet to put up any Christmas ones.
Hope you're having a good day,
Morgan

I love the opening graphic of the beautiful living room decorated for Christmas! Lovely. The talking dog video is hilarious. I have to show it to Kasey and see what she thinks. She 'talks' but I don't recognize her yapping as words. I'm sending good wishes your way! Take good care and send pictures when your husband finishes your decorations!
Hugs, Kathy
Love your first graphic. Reminds me of victorian days. I love that time period. Everything was always so beautiful wasn't it? Hope you not having too much pain by now. Have a good evening.
Missie

hi Jeannette...

Hi Jeannette, I'm sorry you don't feel very well. Have you ever heard of a herbal remedy called echinacea? It boosts the immune system and really helps in winter against colds, flu even arthritis. I give it to my kids as well to help them through the winter. Nathan seems a lovely little "terror"! You've got your work cut with him!
All the best
Antonella
I was having problems with AOL not allowing me to open journals and being slow and today I downloaded a connectivity update and re started and then could not open my mail. I finally tried closing and re opening my mailbox and it worked. I am glad you caught Nathan's playing with the stove before it was too late and the handles melted completely. A gate will be a necessary rule for him from now on until he understands not to do something dangerous. I had a tendency to walk off and my mother told me that one time I ended up in a new home construction basement ditch and could not get out and had to be brought home by a policeman. Another time I wandered off at Grandma and Grandpa's auction of their farm and a couple going to the auction picked me up on the road bringing me back. I am glad you are over the flu and hope that your pain will go away soon. mark
I had to uninstall and reinstalll now mine is ok.
Your house must be beautiful at Christmas, I love all that too but working retail at Christmas takes all my energy. Your so lucky to have your husband help you.
Sorry AOL is giving you so many problems, everything seems to work fine for me so far. I love your tags and to hear about your grandsons. They are so precious.
Hope you start feeling better. Joni
I did visit BamBam to see how to get to Hometown and she said to go through keyboard as that is still working and gets you to file manager. I tried it and it worked. She said the password that ran out has been renewed but might not start working until next week! Gerry
Oh that Nathan is a little stinker.... :)
I hope you are feeling better soon and enjoying all the christmas festivies...
Linda :)
Hope you're soon feeling better Jeannette, that dog video was so funny, I've sent it on to both my daughters, they'll laugh at it, they both have dogs that are nearly human! Mags x
lovely to hear about Nathan, My keiki granddaughter visited yesterday for her first birthday and it was a lovely suprise to be able to give her her presents on the actual day. The party is up at Richmond on Sunday, I had a migraine but it lifted me so to see them all. Keiki loved her toys my main one was a sit on car that is also first walking aid with toys on it Ron and I chose b4 his death. I am sitting here listening to Christmas music and hoping and praying your health and mine hold up for the Christmas season. We put tree and decs up yesterday too. I was wondering how I was going to do without my beloved Ron but Sarah and my former husband came to rescue and all done. I did the tree with care workers help b4 they arrived :-). Love and Godsblessings to you and yours Jeanette i hope you are well soon. Jennie
Jeannette, I am sending many good thoughts your way that you feel better soon and get the blood tests over with. Aren't children just so inquisitive. It's good thing you noticed the smell. Hello Jeannette, I can just imagine Nathan pulling at your heartstrings like that. These little bundles of love that are our grandchildren were sent as rewards for being good parents, at least that`s what I think. Bless their little hearts, even when they do turn the oven on! Good luck with the blood tests, I`ve be thinking of you. I do hope your pain settles down soon, it can be very wearying when you have constant pain.
Love Sandra xxxx
