Bright Lights

Brrrrr, chilly today, sky grey, very breezy, soup making later I think.

Today I am following on from yesterday with a few more photos.  The first two were taken during daylight and this one shows the seafront with the tide completely in

This next shot was taken from the pier looking back towards the shore

and here is that domed building as it looks at night, the photo is a little hazy because him indoors is still trying out different settings for night shooting

The next few snaps are all of the bright lights

Once again Mike was fiddling with the settings and making notes as he went along so this next one is not as good as it should be but I have used it to give you more flavour of what it is like after dark

Lastly, Mike would be the first one to confess that this is not a good clear shot, so please do not think you have double vision.  He apologises and did not really want me to use it. The reason I am posting it is because I still think that it is pretty!

I wonder what it is about illuminations. They have enchanted me ever since I was a little child and they still do, I love it when people start to hang their lights at Christmas. There is something magical about them and yet they are just bulbs, white or coloured, they are just bulbs.  We flick on the light in our homes at night and never give it another thought - but put them together en masse and in various colours and we are instantly children again.

That concludes the little tour of a seaside town. Him indoors will have to come up with some different places.  I have no idea what I shall write about next time, suffering a bit of writer's block at the moment, we all know that feeling I am sure.

Wishing you all a pleasant week.

Chilly here too..aand soup making is definitely on the menu. Pics are lovely and the night ones looked fine to me..My two grandchildren Abbie and Amber have pretty lights in their bedroom all year - they are stars and look so pretty and comforting for them to go to sleep under...Ally

Don't believe you could have writers block as you usually write so well and on all different topics sure you'll have an idea soon.  Don't know if you read my last entry before the computer went down but that was thanks to you I got thinking. Bye just now Joan.

Blimey! It looks like Las Vegas!! If you like lights you'd love the Fremont Experience in Vegas, over a million lights there! The photos are very good, it's hard to take night shots isn't it? Mike did well, tell him thanks for getting them and thankyou for posting them. Jeannette.

Sounds good on the soup.  Loved the photos...so pretty with the lights at night.  I can only imagine how nice it was in person.  Also love seeing sail boats in the water...very nice.  Looks like a nice end to a seaside tour...and writers block, tell me about it...sometimes it hits me hard.  But I give it a shot..no matter what.  Hugs and enjoy that soup.

Wow Jeannette, once again the pictures are wonderful.  Thanks !  Yes, I'm making soup when I get home from work today. Yum!

I've always loved fairy lights, too.  Every year I go around the neighborhoods and take pictures of people's Christmas lights, I just can't help myself!  The more lights, the more garish, the better!

I like the last photo the best. It sort of gives meaning to how busy the night there is. People going in a blur. Great shot. I too love lights. At Christmas, I like the white lights but my favorite are the colored ones. That is Christmas. Color...magic.

Jeannette ,The photos are lovely. You always write such interesting tales.

I doesn`t matter about the blur at all Jeannette, great photos, well done Mike!  How right you are, I`d never thought about it before but illuminations are beautiful yet we all take our electric light for granted.    Jim has said I must  learn all the settings on our new camera.  It took me long enough with the old one   lol!  Writer`s block.... I `m starting to suffer from that myself...oh dear! :-)
