So many of you sent me good wishes, prayed for me and generally supported me that I thought I would let you know the good news. I have now had my blood results and on the whole they are very good especially for someone of my age. The long term sugar reading (over the last few months) was a little high, running at just under10 and they would like me to get it down to around no higher than 8. The nurse told me they consider this a minor problem and they will do blood work again in a few months to re-check. I have been told to increase my exercise, not easy when you cannot get out and do the walking that other people do so I guess I shall have to dance around to music. As for the diet side, I do stick to my diabetic diet so little I can do there.
This does leave me in something of a quandry though because I am no nearer finding the reason for either the itching or the blood spots which keep appearing over my torso and upper legs. The itching could be due to anxiety. Anyway I had a long chat with the nurse and she says the best thing I can do is try and relax now, get a little more exercise if possible and see my doctor on his return to discuss treatment for anxiety and any other concerns. His return I hear you ask? Yes, he has gone on holiday again. He has only been back from his last one for two weeks and is now off again until the 3rd October. I always seem to end up waiting.
Anyway the nurse is quite happy, in view of my results, for me to wait until then unless any other problems arise so maybe now I can relax a little and try to improve my sugar readings.
I want, once again, to thank you all for the many comments of support, for caring for me, for sharing with me, for praying for me. You have helped me immensely and that is the truth. God bless you all.

I am so glad that you got your results back. Thank God you didn't have anything serious wrong. Hope the anxiety soon goes away. Must be nice to go on holiday so much. Helen
Perhaps now you dont have the worry of waiting for your results - (and I am so pleased they turned out as they did) It will lessen your stress and perhaps the itching may ease - You will have "To Chill Out" as they say.......Ally

Great news! Now maybe you really Can relax. Hope you enjoy your new exercise...dancing is fun. lol. ~Deborah
Well that is great news Jeanette! A big sigh of relief and a major worry over for you.The anxiety you suffer from could all be down to a lack of exercise . . lack of exercise causes anxiety and anxiety makes it impossible to go out so its catch 22 for you here. You do not have to do anything strenuous ,just something that will get your heart beating faster and feel invigorating and get your feel good endorphins going. You could march up and down on the spot for one minute a day to start with ?Have you got an exercise bike?
I'm glad your results came back good. It must of been a relief. I enjoy walking for excercise. I know what you mean about not having time. Good luck to you! Linda
I'm so glad your results came back good. The itching could be caused by many things, if your blood sugar level is a bit high that could be the cause. Also the humidity or a new allergy to something like washing powder off your clothes. There are certain washing detergents I can't use or I itch all over!! I hope your doctor will be able to sort this out when he returns (again!!). Love Jeannette.xx.
Very glad Jeannette. Exercises done sitting in a chair are quite mild.........unless you feel the urge to disco dance around the house that is :), but don't over do it will you. Take care. xxRache
i am so glad they didn't find anything seriously wrong with you...i have been thinking about you and wondering if you had the results. well done you! love joanne
Oh I am so pleased! You can do armchair exercise!!! I have a small (small) treadmill which is quite good and you can watch the telly at the same time! Glad it was good news :)

So pleased the results were good, try and take it easy now.
Hi Jeannette, glad your results are okay. I swear Doctors work round their holidays and not the other way round!! You are always in my thoughts! Joan xxx
Wonderful news, hopefully now you know you should be able to relax a bit
xx
Wish you could get out, I'd come and pick you up and take you on holiday with me next month (I'm on docs orders to get a rest - hoping hubby will be okay in time), so that you can see the sea again and walk on the shore.
Hugs

I'm so happy you have relatively good reports. Dancing could be quite fun, especially if Him Indoors dances with you!! ~~Kath~~
I am so pleased that your test results are good Jeannette. When your doctor eventually gets back you can see him at last. Maybe the blood spots and the itching ARE down to anxiety... I`m sure he will be able to help you. Take care.

You are very welcome and I'm so relieved you've had good news although you have not cleared up why you are getting the problems!! Nothing wrong with dancin' to music I do it all the time :-)
*whew* Good!
I'm so glad to hear that! I may not comment every entry, but you are always in my thoughts. You are one of the special people in J-Land. Pennie
Excellent news - nothing too serious to worry about there at all, by the sound of it. The spots and the itching must be a damn nuisance, but at least nothing nasty showed up on the blood tests. So it may simply be an anxiety thing after all. Just have to wait until your doc returns from his latest holiday. But make sure you have a good talk to him about it then. Well done with the blood tests anyway. You're obviously managing the diabetes extremely well, I'm so glad.
David.
HI JEANNO, DONT GET DISCOURAGED, I AM A DIABETIC ALSO, IT IS A HARD THING TO BE A GOOD GIRL. THE COOKIES AND CAKE A LA MODE ARE REALLY KILLERS. TRY TO EXERCISE MORE. I KNOW ITS HARD. BUT TRY. LUV YA, ROBERTA
Good news that the tests did not show any others problems. Hope you are going to be dancing around your house. Would like to see some photos of that! Take care, mark
Hallelujah !!! I'm so happy the results were good. Jeannette, how about a treadmill ? I hate to go out walking in the neighborhood and I live in a nice cozy little mobile home park. I have my treadmill outside, at the very back of my carport. I park my car in front of it and I don't think anyone can even see me out there. I like watching the cars and people go by and the fresh air (even in the winter) is so nice. Sometimes it's too warm in the house to do a lot of activity, except what we have to do, like vacumning for instance.
Oh that is good news Jeannette, what a relief :o)
Do you think the itching could be an allergic reaction to something? Well, you will know when your doctor returns from his holidays, am just glad that it's nothing serious :o)

Sounds great! rose
Jeanette,
I am happy for yoU! I am on prednisone because of my rheumatoid arthritis and lupus and have to watch my sugar too. I relate. I also have a hard time exercising, but I try too.
I am so glad that nothing major is standing out to them and the blood work is good.
Be well,
Dawn
