How beautiful ! Hopefully aid will continue to pour into that area now that the actual storm is over. I know they are sending Air Force planes from the base just a mile & a half from me, down there. The news said each plane would have necessary supplies for 180 people & that they would be moved from the Gulf area to Texas and other locations. There have been 5 planes leave here and each plane would pick up two loads a day.
That is very beautiful. Locally, planes are being sent down from here. C130's loaded with supplies etc.... Our Gov. just gave the Red Cross a couple million dollars from New York State. There are alot of local fundraising efforts going on to. I don't know why they won't let those people leave the Superdome tho. Linda
All the victims and their families are in my thoughts and prayers. I am completely disquisted at our government and fema.....May all the victims get water, food and some comfort after this terrible tragedy. It's long over due! Beautiful graphic my friend. (((HUgs & Blessings))) Angel
The network news last night is putting it out there for the public to see everything that is happening. Help has arrived, if late, and in a state of confusion. This will be a huge learning experience about what needs to be in place for a future catastrophy. You sentiments are beautiful Jeannette. I will be going to St. Louis University in Oct to have a large lump in my left shoulder removed by a Plastic Surgeon. It is a 2 hour drive. My back was in bad strain at 4:30 am after 3 hours sleep. Am taking medication to be able to sit on my stool at the computer. Probably (for sure) from lifting the lumber last Sat. God bless, take care, mark
The whole Katrina episode is a sobering reminder of how fragile the thin veneer of our 'civilisation' is. Once catastrophe sweeps away the thin blue line of law and order, humans quickly revert to morals of the stone age. I can't think why on earth they built a city below sea level in the first place - right by the sea! But, all our thoughts and prayers are with the victims now anyway. Lovely photos of you and the grandchildren, by the way (earlier entries).
