This entry is for the lovely Sara of Sara's Days . After I posted a picture of our Daughter's wedding yesterday when I did an Anniversary entry for her and Dean, Sara asked if it was possible to see any more of the wedding pictures and I am happy to oblige.
I have picked a few that show off Becky's dress, my outfit (those were the days I used to have dark Auburn and much longer hair!) and the bridesmaids dresses. Can it really be 12 years ago? It certainly does not seem like all that time has gone by.
What a lovely day it was apart from the weather. It started off sunny and bright but when we all left the church for photographs, the sky had gone black and there was an absolute gale blowing. All our hats blew away, hairstyles got ruined (no, I am not posting pics of that!). I can remember it all so well. I had spent weeks sewing 2000 crystals and pearls onto Becky's dress. Every half a dozen or so I had to wash my hands to avoid grease and dirt getting on it but it was worth all the time, as she stood at the alter, with all the candle light upon her, the crystals danced and sparkled. I sat for hours making the table decorations as well and weeks and weeks planting up the garden so that the photos taken at home would look good. Still miss that house, lots of good memories there. That morning the house was full, all the bridesmaids getting ready, relatives that had come a long distance. How we ever got through it all I do not know.
Mike was so proud although he was terrified of giving his speech but managed to pull it off. It was quite funny on the way to the church. The Bridesmaids had left and then it was my turn. I got into the car with my cousin and my best friend and we set off. Well, our driver did not know where the church was! We gave him instructions but he took the wrong turning. I was frantic. Well, he eventually got on the right road and looking up ahead, we could see Becky and Mike in the bridal car. Good job there were no police around. Our driver put his foot down and raced by them as the church was in sight and we had to reach it before them. I saw a startled Becky look and point as she saw her mother hurtling by! Wonderful memories.
We had such a lovely reception and hours of dancing afterwards, wish I could share the video with you all. Anyway without more ado, here are the photos:-
This last one shows a little of how windy it was, although it was pretty sheltered where they were standing.
I hope you enjoy the photographs. I have enjoyed re-living all the memories as I scanned them and added them.
Have a great week everyone

What a beautiful wedding ! 12 years has certainly made a difference in all of our lives. 12 years ago - my hair was blonde - now I have varying shades of grey !
I got fed up with putting the color on . The years are certainly more about the events than the color...now I celebrate each day as it comes. 'On Ya' - ma

Those are great pictures. Aren't bridesmaids dress something ? I was in several weddings back in the early 1960's...I don't know what happened to those dresses. But it would be interesting to see how they'd go over 40 plus years later.

Everyone looks fantastic! Becky had the same shade on her bride's maids that I had. Love that color. And you look amazing! I love that hair color on you. You should try that again!
Beautiful pictures! You looked so proud of Becky... I loved the gentlemen's hats. And all the hard work you did for the dress and wedding, WOW!
Many more years of happiness to the blessed couple!

Beautiful pics Jeannette, what a lovely bride Becky was, and you and Mike look so proud too! I remember so well my own wedding day because the wind nearly blew my veil off completely. Luckily, I caught hold of it in time! All that sewing of crystals, what patience you had, though it must have been worth it. :-)
