Daniel becomes "official" today as Becky and Dean are registering his birth right now. They will be spending the afternoon with us on their return and I can hardly wait to see the boys. I know that Daniel will have changed in only the few days since I last saw him. Becky and Dean celebrate their wedding anniversary on Sunday, they certainly have a lot going on in their lives at the moment.
The weather continues warm and sunny but the plants are reaching the end, too little rain, too many hot days (very warm again today) and they have given their best but are now starting to look sorry for themselves. I must start thinking about disposing of them (hate to do that when there are still some flowers left) and put in some winter pansies for colour during the darker months.
The news from the Southern States still continues to be horrendous. It is hard to understand why it has taken so long to get help to these people who are without food and fresh drinking water. The government seems to have done little to help from what I have seen. It is heartbreaking to hear people begging for help. Our hearts go out to them.
Received another couple of "Grandparents" cards this morning. How nice it is to get something in the post other than bills and junk mail. I also received a package from Sandra of Sandra's Scribbles. She has sent something for my birthday at the end of next week. How very kind, I am touched. I am under strict instructions not to open it before the day, very very hard for me but I will do it. Sandra has now gone on holiday. I hope she has a wonderful time because she deserves it.
Thank you to all those people who visited the two journals I mentioned yesterday. I am always happy to promote journals in return for all the help that I was given when I first started writing.
Well, the washing is finished so I had better go and hang it out, at least it will not take long to dry.
Oh, Stuart of Specimen Days has posted some beautiful photos of his daughter's wedding. Do goand have a look - what a beautiful bride and how nice to see all the kilts.
Have a great weekend everyone

Jeannette they have been dropping food by helicoptors and have taken in some by ship to all those people but I know even that is not enough. People every where is donating money and food to be sent down there. I realize they need it now. It is so heartbreaking to watch all this in the news. We are truly blessed to not live down there. Helen
PS. take a lot of pictures of the boys today to share with us. Helen
Brothers....What a good thing!!
Hurray! You get to see the boys today, take lots of pictures. Please wish Becky and Dean, a Happy Anniversary.
Some of our trees are already losing leaves, which is sad to see happen this early. But we had a real summer here this year, very hot and humid.
Made donations yesterday, for the Katrina victims, it is heartbreaking to hear their stories.
Hope you enjoy your day. ttfn :) ~Deborah
Again, congratulations on the new addition to your family! What a sweetie.
As for the relief efforts here in the U.S. - I know, it's hard to watch on TV and to know that it is the U.S. and not some poor developing country. People forget that we have a lot of poor people here...so poor that they had no cars to evacuate and nowhere to go anyhow. Louisiana and Mississippi are probably 2 of the very poorest states. It's very sad.
Such lovely boys, glad Daniel will become official today - enjoy your time with them...I know you will....Ally
oh so cute officaial today. Wow becky and dean do hav alot going on right now so are you going to get to watch the two boys on sun so they can go out to dinner or are they to tired to do anything lol hope you have a wonderful weekend my friend and enjoy your visit with the two cute boys you are still in my prayers GOd bless kelley
Actually it's not really the president that is the problem. Helicopters and planes have been on standby since the weather cleared. It is the officials on the ground that haven't been getting things done. The planes couldn't land till they were told where to land. Those officials have their hands full but should have been more prepared for a major disaster in their city.
I cant remember if I commented or not,its been a very dissapointing day after yesterday ,I posted again but I think that one went the way off the first into cyberspace,I dont even appear to have a journal address anymore well Ive got the address but it isnt recognised Iwill try again ,but am very dissapointed.I rang aol ,who dont seem to know about journals/blogs, I got passed round to a few opperatives they even told me my account was ok!! Hi I agree with you about the Southern States was just watching the news at teatime it is unbelievable. I feel so sorry for the people who have been left with nothing. I read a journal on Sunday from your list from someone who was waiting for the storm but cannot remember the name have you heard from her I would love to know? Bye just now Joan.
Your grandchildren are gorgeous. Thanks for visiting and commiserating with me about the hurricane devastation...
Congratulations to Becky and Dean on their anniverary. I`ll bet that Daniel has changed so much as you say. I forgot how quickly babies do change but Roman seems to change daily. I just love being a grandparent too! When I get back I`ll be throwing out my summer flowers and planting winter pansies too. I have a new planter that I will be filling with narcissis, pansies and something that climbs up the trellis ( I`m still working on that one...lol!). Have a lovely weekend my dear friend.
((((((hugs))))))
